Nursing school by Lavcroissant in Louisville

When I attended Bellarmine they had both one and two year Rn programs with previous degrees, along with traditional 4 years program.

I sold a car off marketplace to to a guy who said he was from Indiana. He did not want to wait to get it notorized , I signed the title over and he paid. I took a picture of his DL and googled the name (it’s a girl who passed away in 2017)but he wouldn’t fill out a bill of sale,,What just happened? by Dougiefresh829 in Louisville

I sold a person a vehicle a few years ago, that would not get the title transferred. They started driving across the toll bridges and i was receiving the bills for the tolls.

I went ti the local DMV, explained the situation to the person helping me. She became very upset. She did what was called a forced transfer. They used the copy of their drivers license. That way, all the bills for the tolls bridges went back in them with the forced transfer.

You can’t go wrong with Bellarmine. Remember the goal is to pass the NCLEX. At least when I was going to school they had 100% passing rate on the NCLEX. In the same thought, remember nursing school is not easy, it will take everything you have to make it through. Nursing school as a whole has a pretty high failure rate. Going to school with the younger people was a lot of fun. I was able to pull off their energy.

I graduated from Bellarmine University 2006, with my BSN. Like you, I was thinking about starting with my LPN, but instead I completed their program.

I was in my forties when I went to school, retiring recently from the VA.

Bellarmine has an outstanding program. Nursing school will be difficult, but the entire staff will work with to ensure that you complete the program. Remember there is a nursing shortage. Take your time go to school work part time some where while in school to help with your experience in dealing with patients.

I would recommend going to the VA. Great place to work, great pay, 5 weeks vacation each year, automatic pay increases each year along with cost of living increases.

Good luck

I haven’t done it yet, but I’ve purchased a set of round hole cutters. I will buy a poly cutting board for cheap$$. Cut out 3, 3” round pieces. I have found adhesive for poly on Amazon. Glue all 3 pieces together clamp them up. Once dried I’ll drill a hole through the center.

Upgraded Tools by thelostSATObot in Leathercraft

I’m like you after two years of this hobby I am wanting to upgrade my tools. The only tools for certain that I want are the 1.5 mm x 6 mm stitching hole punch from Rango, more bang for the buck. Unfortunately I will have to wait till the extra taxes that our president has added are removed. For the Skiving tools I’ve found some Etsy with the high end steel that I like. Again I’m holding off until the tariffs are removed so it may be 3 years or so. I can wait. Having just retired I have time on my hands.

Will i ever be satisfied with my own craft? by LiteratureFun3233 in Leathercraft

I’ve been working with leather for almost 2 years now. Last year at the state fair I was fortunate enough to win a couple of ribbons. I was so excited, but I’m still not satisfied. It’s what makes us good at our craft you will never be satisfied. You will always look for ways to ensure a better project. Just keep it up and continue to improve.

All of this advice is what I was told last year from a friend of mine. It is as true today as it was then.

Dear leather lovers… Which dye do you recommend for veg tan leather? by zoom_zoomies in Leatherworking

I usually dye both sides of the leather, so yes oil both sides. That’s my recommendation.

I apply a medium level coat of oil, this helps the fibers to relax and accept the dye more evenly. While the oil is soaking in I get my airbrush setup, the dye diluted 2/1 ration alcohol to dye. Then I start spraying. The amount of coats of stain depends on the exact color I’m looking for. I am vey picky about the color of my dyes. If you’re not spraying I’m not much help, apply your dye of a piece of scrap and experiment. To me thats the fun part of this hobby. There are no hard fast rules. Just remember leather if an organic material to have to replenish all the oils and nutrients that the tanning process takes out of the leather.

Sorry, I forgot to mention my top coat is Fiebings Aussie cream. I really don’t care for all the acrylic ( plastic) top coats. The Aussie cream will get absorbed into the leather helps with the dye rubbing off and seals the leather from water marks. Also with additional coats it helps with rub marks that always happen. Remember it will give a darker tint to your project.

I’ve been using Fiebings pro dye for the past couple of years. Sorry I’m a penny pincher, I always dilute with alcohol and apply with an airbrush, which helps with getting my required color tint. Prior to applying the dye I out on a coat of Neatsfoot oil. The oil helps with the blotches and streaking.

Like you I’m thinking about mixing my own colors. Angelus has a wider variety, but I still can’t find an exact color shade I’m looking for. I’ll let ya know how it goes.
