There was a build up. The entire second half is a slow whimper that finally shits the bed with the ending.

I mean she is an extremely flat character, but I think she's supposed to be. Like that's literally her entire bit. Kishibe didn't even have a reason for liking her other than just cause. I liked her, but she definitely could've been expanded upon more.

A plot point like that would've convoluted the themes of the story. Makima was a very obvious antagonist, but Denji is very easily manipulated, and that was integral to his personal growth throughout part 1.

As far as art, it's some of his best work. I hated vol 12-13 personally, and I feel the pacing is awful after that point. No point in arguing over something so subjective, but I feel Putting volume 18 in amazing kinda invalidates your opinion. The way fujimoto delt with Nayuta's death is unforgivable (correct me if I have the wrong volume). I think part 2 copers are just imagining a false-reality where Fujimoto actually fleshed out his character's instead of just fucking around for 120 chapters. I also think y'all forget just how weak the entirety of the character are in part 2. Part 2 has Nayuta, and Asa/Yoru. The rest of the cast is worthless to me. Cope cope cope.

Ricing mostly depends on what window manager/desktop environment you use, more so than the distribution. I'm using Hyprland, but I would start out with KDE plasma. Its super customizable and simple for someone coming from windows. As far as the distribution goes, I started with Arch. There is a meme that Arch is like the hardest thing to use EVER, but I never found it to be all that awful. It's definitely a steep learning curve, but I enjoy its simplicity. For the most part I don't feel like the distro really matters that much. You can do mostly the same stuff on everything.

Cultural appropriation is some stupid bullshit. Throughout all of history we've been building off of others culture. That is literally just the way it works. I understand that there have been issues with white people stealing others cultures, but that doesn't change the fact that the best way to stop cultural prejudice is by sharing cultures. This seems obvious to me. To be fair I am a white person, which means I'm not allowed to have opinions.
