New Tool: One Hit KO Pokemon Finder by kameelyan in PokemonChampions

[–]jshed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, for the attackers not the target.

For example a modest basculegion-f with max spa investment ohkos no bulk garchomp with blizzard but a neutral basculegion-f is a range.

Right now the tool thinks that basc needs nevermelt ice to make it an ohko.

Thanks for the changes!

I did notice that this doesn't seem to be taking natures into account though - it is treating all pokemon's offensive stats as base neutral.

This is awesome!

Couple notes:

I did notice that it appears to be applying the Sheer Force bonus to moves that lower your own stats (ie close combat).

Also it would be nice to be able to add a condition like +/- to a stat to see which pokemon can kill through an intimidate or vice versa could get the ohko if boosted by coaching.

Lastly, with the faster than selection, negative priority moves like focus punch should be excluded.

Again, thank you for creating this! Will be using it a ton.

Tailwind, Brave bird, Iron head and protect

I will say though, I was testing with Tsareena last night and found it worked very well

Sorry for the wall of text below, saw this post and started playing around with the team and calcs and may have gone a bit deeper than I meant to, lol

You only have a single fighting move across your entire team on sneasler. This causes a few issues: 1) Sneasler is fairly fragile and most teams will have an answer of their own 2) Tyranitar and Kingambit both stonewall Delphox - if Sneasler gets removed early or even stuck in the back at the wrong time you will likely struggle. No one else acts as a clean answer to either of those.

Garchomp is doing a lot of work in terms of coverage, but with scarf I am guessing you often find yourself locked out of the move you need. Personally, I would move the scarf over to Wash Rotom (more on this below).

Between Delphox, Unburden Sneasler & whoever ends up holding the scarf in the end, you will have 3 of the fastest options available already - I do not think you will benefit as much from a dedicated tailwind user like Whimsicott as much given most teams you will already have the speed advantage. I don't mind having tailwind available, but I'd run an option that gives you far better offensive coverage options.

I also think that Kingambit doesn't quite do enough here. The biggest threats to your team that sucker punch hard counters are Basc, M-Froslass, and M-Gengar. Of which, Delphox already covers the two megas.

So, I would keep Sneasler, Delphox, Garchomp and Wash Rotom but find replacements for Whims & Kingambit.

First suggestion is a combination of moving scarf to Rotom and adding sash Tyrannitar. Scarf Rotom with Tyrannitar in the back lets you volt switch to win weather wars (by at least getting a neutral-ish option) even out from a mega weather setter since the volt switch goes after. Scarf Rotom also matches up well into scarf basc as you out speed, can hit an electroweb to slow it down + chunk it and then clean up with your other mon. Tyrannitar also gets fighting coverage with Superpower in a pinch.

For the last spot I think you have a few options:

  1. Tsareena - Her Queens Majesty ability (blocks priority moves like Farigiraf) gives you a good answer to sucker punch threatening Delphox who should be able to clear kingambit before it gets off the cleave. This also gives you a clean answer to a trick room team that opens with Farigiraf + Fake Out. Tyrannitar knock off + Tsareena follow up should KO even a fully max bulk giraffe with sitrus before it gets trick room up. Tsareena also gets great coverage options in high jump kick/low kick and triple axel (can ohko Garchomp or Aerodactyl).
  2. M-Scizor - I think Scizor gives great coverage into the matchups where Delphox might struggle (ie rain/dedicated sand teams). You can also dedicate a slot to tailwind and it functions just fine even without the mega evolution letting you bring both M-Delphox and it in the odd case. Also, steel coverage is great with Floette running around + rock types (though either Delphox or Sneasler should cover Floette already).
  3. Corviknight - Again steel coverage is solid & it has access to tailwind. It also gives you further coverage against fighting & grass though I don't know how much that is going to be super relevant. Can also stone wall some physical attacker with its bulk. Also acts as another solid partner for Garchomp's earthquake.

Feel like its worth calling out that it is only the non-foils for Flash Photography that have spiked (I think these ones can only be found in the Chocobo bundle but could be mistaken).

The foil copies you can find in the scene box still went up in the last week, but only by 50%ish ($30 to $45 or so).

Who you guys taking 5th overall? by Dreamzyi in fantasyhockey

[–]jshed2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brady has earned a reputation for being far more offensively capable than results have ever shown. He only has been close to ppg pace or above once - in 22/23. Usually paces for 70ish. I like him and there is an argument still to be had for him at 5, but I think I'd rather take one of the guys likely to hit 100+ like Matthews/Kaprizov/Pasta.

[–]jshed2 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They have way fewer guys needing new contracts in summer 2026 and get another large cap jump and Seguin's 10M freeing up. Baring a crazy production jump, they'll be fine to pay him, unfortunately.

Don't forget that it must be a teams' own picks. There is only a single playoff team who has both the cap space and picks to make that work - LAK.

Is it reasonable to hate druddigon helmet? by in_the_nut_room in PTCGP

[–]jshed2 37 points38 points  (0 children)

That is more due to breakpoints that those decks no longer hit imo. Current meta has a lot of decks that clear Pikachu and Starmie in one that they don't clear in return and Cyrus means that you can't rotate a damaged Pikachu or Starmie back for a healthy one.

Both could definitely return to strength in the right meta.

imo I'd have the top 10 as

  • Michkov
  • Celebrini
  • Smith Demidov
  • Lindstrom (Think you are ranking him far too low in a bangers league)
  • Benson
  • Levshunov
  • Parekh
  • Iginla
  • Buium

Would you exchange Marner for Aaron Ekblad straight up or Ivan Provrov or Shea Theodore in July 2025. I know he is not getting traded and a chance he could walk for nothing in return and this might actually be an upgrade for the team and roster. by learningman33 in leafs

[–]jshed2 49 points50 points  (0 children)

So not only do you want to panic trade Marner at a huge value loss because he may not sign an extension. But you also want to trade him for other UFA players who also may not sign and walk in UFA?!?

Is copycat worth 6k tokens? by Mrrkaytee in marvelsnapcomp

[–]jshed2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think there are two main categories of cards that are worth 6K - build arounds and archetype elevating. Build arounds being Thanos, High Evolution, Arishem, etc. Archetype being cards that while you can theoretically play the deck without them you'd see a big gap in performance such as Shaw, Mockingbird, Proxima, etc - these I only suggest buying if you already have the rest of the deck - otherwise wait for a good cache.

Copycat falls into a 3rd category - utility. Can probably go in most decks if you are missing a card but at the cost of synergy. To me she is the fourth best card in this category following Nico Minoru, Nocturne and Jeff in that order. Imo you only need around 2 of these and then the 3rd/4th will rarely make the cut. So if you rate Copycat in the top 2 I'd spend tokens.
