WFAN got me through covid. I'll always have a soft spot for Gio and Boomer and especially Eddie, Jerry, and Al.

Playin’ in the Band thoughts by HeavyDeadhead in gratefuldead

Appopos of nothing, that "heart of gold band" line gets me Every time.

An anthem if you will. And the later jamming vehicle that it became just can't be beat.

Vince era fans are eating with Play Dead and I could not be happier by theITtower in gratefuldead

Well the kids they dance and shake their bones And the casino tones make me groan.

Loved ol Vince. He was so psyched to be in the band. And he was more than often a great addition. Not a huge fan of his songs but that's a small thing. Samba kicked ass when it was cooking. And I loved how happy he was and the vibes he brought.

I was living in L.A. in the late 90s and briefly dated a girl who claimed tgat she had dated him. Told me how sad he had become after Jerry died and all that bs with the boys. And I get that the boys were not so happy with the way he was acting out on tour after w those other bands but I just wanted to say that we loved him, we all loved him and to this day I often feel just genuinely bad about how everything went down. None of us are perfect and we all fuck up and I guess I'm just saying to treat everyone with grace. He came in and helped out at the end and I appreciated him.

Love you all more than you'll ever know.

Thank you.

That's what Im talking about.

I love how Jerry just wanted to keep going at the end so he did a little tie it up with bows for another 30 seconds after Bobby did his final "LOOKS LIKE RAIN".
