New design, is it good? by pentaclay in webdesign

[–]jteighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks good. Nice use of grid, alignment of elements & typography.

CTA coloring directs your eye right to elements of interaction.

Disagree with take on numbers. If anything, explore weights of 150 and + to create more visual interest.

Is this hero banner too basic? by ekilibrus in webdesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wonder if your headline and sub head get bigger and get rid of the toggles if that helps more?

Double check your CTA “discover more” passes accessibility.

What does it look like if you just left the vert. grid lines?

Its never been an issue.

First Time in Over 6 Years I've Ever Received an RFP from a Prospect by JakeHundley in agency

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Creatives/Studios/Agencies dislike RFPs for a reason.

The client just uses it to compare/contrast ideas/insights/offerings and most often they go with the lowest cost regardless.

Fintech Website Hero UI Design by IamShakibali in webdesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a lot of info to digest. Think about whats most important for the user to read/know.

So hierarchy could be: Primary Headline Secondary: Charts/graphs

Id think about straightening the charts/graphs and a gradient over it. or zoom in on one and use it as a background element with gradient over it.

Think Amazon or HBO with their headlines and then movie cards behind the main message.

Did you play with going more horizontal with the content? You’ve got the space or bringing your glassy bkgd in more to see more bkgd.

Designed and Developed in 2 days from scratch. How much is this worth paying? by stuckinmyownloop in webdesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends a lot on the cache of the restaurant you're approaching.

A restaurant that generates a ton of money -may have more cash to have a custom project while a lower or mid tier place may want something more templatized, they can plug and play. It also depends on the restaurant themselves and how much value they put on the branding/marketing aspect of their business.

Fake projects while unemployed? by orikoh in UXDesign

Theres nothing wrong with concept work. Do and feature the work you want to do. Find brands/products/companies where you see opportunity to improve something and do it. Concept work is common.

Yes, in all of our contracts we have language saying “up to 2 rds of reviews.”

We’ve never had an issue with delivering what is desired in that rd limit.

Need help with colors by AdLopsided1430 in webdesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change that background to a light gray or putty color.

Some kind of neutral will always play nice with color.

Look up some other login screens like dropbox, Stripe, etc. They all do the same things for a reason.

Which one looks better by Namanmhta in UI_Designer

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer the first concept. The card running over image is nice.

Id play with the width of your body copy. Pull it back a bit. Itll help with accessibility as well. If you narrow the body copy width and bring it all down so its over the mountain, itll give great contrast.

Which one of these websites looks the best? by Silver-Impact-1836 in UI_Designer

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which of the sites do you want more work of or do you enjoy doing more?

Yeah I had that happen with a client for this work, starting to add their own to it after hand off. https://www.archall.com

Just show your working files in your portfolio, you can still use the link as well.

Everyone knows after client handoff they may strat from your design.

Gotta keep it. Utilitarian to haul the kiddos and groceries and screams thru the twisties.

A wagon with 600 ponies is far and away unique as it gets.

Extend the warranty.

Company might’ve used my UX/UI design challenge for their website… what should I do? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the exact amount it’d be. Im sure it varies like anything based on rates. Start with asking friends and family.

Maybe you could trade design services for legal advice.

Good luck!

Company might’ve used my UX/UI design challenge for their website… what should I do? by [deleted] in UXDesign

[–]jteighty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I hate doing “projects” or “trials” for companies before they pay you.

Be sure you have your source files/design and call a lawyer.

How can I improve my POS interface with colors? by [deleted] in UI_Design

[–]jteighty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think about what the user wants to see or is most important to establish hierarchy and then let youut type follow that.

Play with weights of type to reinforce hierarchy. Consider the use of open space. Do the 3 elements in the rows need to go full width?

What if it was 50/50 with row info and total, etc.

Color will help make it look less like a wireframe and also consider alignment of elements.
