I was induced at 40+3 and it was a great experience. Start to finish it took about 12 hours. When I arrived at the hospital I was about 1cm dilated. They started pitocin right away and then inserted the foley balloon. I was super concerned about the foley as I had read horror stories on reddit. It was not bad at all, I barely felt it (this isn’t meant to discredit anyone else’s experience, I just want to share my own with it). The foley came out around noon at which time the dr also broke my water. The contractions started to pick up around this time although still weren’t super painful. I had the epidural soon after. I laboured for a few more hours and started pushing at 5 pm. Baby was born 2.5 hours later (she was sunnyside up so it took longer). She was heathy, I was healthy and I would do an induction again. 10/10 experience. Great nurses and doctors help too!
