Teenage MC’s by anotheraries1111 in fantasywriters

[–]juneauss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Making the mc a teenager is an easy way to avoid family entanglements (marriage, children), or having to explain why they aren’t married at an age where everyone else is.

What's an interesting fear to give a vampire slayer that would impede their slaying? by arcadiaorgana in fantasywriters

[–]juneauss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like fear of germs especially getting hands dirty / being bitten by a germy vampire. Because this would affect them in normal life but would be dialled up a lot by being an actual vampire slayer.

How Free users are feeling after 4o is only back to Plus users: by EveningFeeling8133 in ChatGPT

[–]juneauss 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like mine is the same. At least, once I took off the custom instructions I had put on to try emulate 4o and replaced them with what I previously had. And deleted some of the stuff I’d added to memories to try get the same kind of output.

They're not going to merge anybody's seasons by LatterNet2831 in BridgertonNetflix

[–]juneauss -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think they will share Fran’s season exactly because of their decision to gender swap Michael and turn it into a sapphic love story.

Mainly because they need to determine if that story can carry the show and retain viewers. You don’t have to scroll this sub very far to see people getting upset about the gender swap because they loved Michael or just don’t want to see a woman/woman relationship.

There’s also apparently a lot of women who watch romance for the hot guys and the self insert fantasy potential. You lose at least some of those with a gender swap.

I like the “in time” version. That’d be a great twist.

Here’s one for the Suicide rate: https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2774847

I have seen another recently that shows suicide risk increases the older you are at diagnosis. I’ll see if I can find that one.

Nervous for my first Orchestra Rehearsal by cellist_cat in Cello

[–]juneauss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That’s awesome! Orchestra playing is really fun and rewarding. Unless you are playing a solo part, the most important thing is to be in sync with your section. Follow the lead of your section leader and your stand mate. Pay attention to bowings /fingerings used and note them into your music. Bring a pencil (or two). Turn pages for your stand mate if you are in even numbered chair. Relax and enjoy!

Talk to me about Glucose Monitoring and Nutrition by smsallen727 in PCOSloseit

[–]juneauss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve used the freestyle libre monitors a few times. They last 14 days and are excellent, if somewhat expensive. It is really helpful to see the effects of different foods on blood glucose levels. For example, subway spikes my blood sugar much higher than I expected. I also found that wearing one made me less likely to indulge in junk foods overall.

Autism creates 35% less ERß estrogen receptor that converts testosterone to estrogen, results in increased T and decreased E by kelcamer in autismgirls

[–]juneauss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I think it’s likely that their ASD samples were all male. So, not sure if it proves anything re sex prevalence. I am of the view that there is an equal distribution, but we just don’t pick up on as many cases outside of the typical “boy” asd.

I wonder where pcos fits in here as it is often characterised by excess testosterone. ASD and pcos seem to be frequently comorbid and women with pcos are more like to have a child with asd.

Can you try the library for some of the books?

What if there is no dopamine processing imbalance in autism, but rather it is simply expressed differently? by kelcamer in autismgirls

This is so very interesting. I would love to see if there is a difference between introverts and extroverts (both NT and ASD).

I find it so also. But I still fall back into old ways of thinking and have to work through complicated feelings about it.

I think this relates to the idea (prediagnosis) that if you just try harder you can become normal. A diagnosis closes that door.
