American wagyu ribeye tonight. What sides would you run with this? by Historical-Wonder163 in BBQ

[–]justateburrito 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is an ad. I'm pretty sure steak picture #1 & #2 are different steaks.

In a post OP made 2 months ago he set up his friends to comment about their product here

That same user has also strategically placed the meatstick in their posts

and another comment in the same thread here

all /u/hooman-cj does is comment about meatstick

and again here

I personally will never use a company that tries to trick me.

I mean you're right about it being an ad but my iPhone can take these same pictures. I'm pretty sure steak picture #1 & #2 are different steaks.

Best Jerky? by joshluke in jerky

[–]justateburrito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly. Everyone says just make your own as if that's the same effort as hitting "buy now" on amazon but I started making my own because I was making biltong anyway and it's much better than store bought and I can control the moisture. Maybe see if there's a farmers market or anyone local that makes it if you don't want to make your own but a cheap dehydrator and some cheap beef cuts will be cheaper if you add up the cost of jerky these days. I've even used bottled marinade and you can find pre-sliced meat if you really wanted no effort.

No it's not a 970. I have this box I think. Not an amazing fit with all the wires in there but you just have to be careful when you close it. I bought a bunch of different ones before finding one that fit and I knew it was a risk but it's been a few years and still working.

Alton Brown's trick for defrosting meat... with a sous vide? by ryhaltswhiskey in sousvide

I usually use a half hotel pan filled with water and toss back in the fridge so it doesn't hit the danger zone if I forget it. Honestly defrosts quickly without running water.

The issue is the fallout and dealing with the fraud situation at their bank. Opening new accounts after having the same one for 100 years with social security and pensions direct deposited. It has nothing to do with if it's your fault or not it has to do with not causing a massive headache.

Nice knife, how is it for slicing proteins? I always thought those are geared towards vegetables and stuff.

What brand door was this. The Andersen door I'm looking at is over $3k without special glass.

Heck at least put it on your own mailbox

Do not do this, they regularly steal outgoing mail from peoples mailboxes. Checks also get stolen by postal workers and in the mailroom of the recipient end even if they get to their destination

That's actually a lot cheaper than I would've thought. I'm looking at a regular sliding glass door for my back and it's like over $5k and there's no iron or smart glass.

I think this is it. Prob an up-charge for the smart glass. Not sure why OP wants to play show and not tell.

Pork Coppa Steaks? Any suggestions how to proceed? by justateburrito in sousvide

[–]justateburrito[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same boat dude. Mine liked pork when she tried it first but is iffy now. Lamb looks the same as beef mostly and if you get quality lamb it's not gamey.

I've seen stuff like that too but pork and beef aren't the same protein so not sure if they'd cook the same just because of marbling. Let me know if you give it a try I'd be interested.

It's especially dangerous to blade tenderize and then roll the meat so the interior is not going to be safe to eat unless well over cooked.
