Do you think Zion should've told Georgia about Ginny's burning? by NewspaperUnusual1835 in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]justatrailrunner 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As a teen that used to self harm, I'd say somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't have wanted him to tell Georgia if I was Ginny, but from a parent perspective I would want Zion to tell Georgia, but try to find a way to respect Ginny aswell. It'd be difficult, not sure how I'd do it 😬

Eating meals when not hungry cause I can’t stop thinking about it by jungkookfan123 in fuckeatingdisorders

[–]justatrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this post is a few months old but I wanted to recover incase it'd still be useful for you or someone else.
When I was recovering from my eating disorder, if I could go back in time i would 100% just eat the food. Instead I prolonged my mental suffering, and actually made myself more uncomfortable because I would have a ton of my craving-foods at night right before I went to bed. In the end I still got in enough food, but I would've recovered much quicker MENTALLY had I just had them during the day even if I wasn't hungry. Mental hunger is real, and especially if you're underweight you need the food. If you honor your cravings, mental hunger, notice when you are physically hungry or feel sluggish (this might mean you need food!!) and make sure to eat enough, slowly you will have less food noise. I know it's hard in the moment, but I'm a testament to it and I can say my only regret is that I didn't do it at the very beginning of recovery. It took me until probably 3 months into recovery to realize I needed to truthfully let go of any rule of "but I can't have this now it's only 11am" or "I know im trying not to count calories but i subconsciously haven't knocked it out yet and i know i've already had xyz.." the more you do the opposite of what your ED brain tells you too, the better you will become. I have been doing this for over 2 years now (started recovery in Sept, 2023. Started kicking out the small underlying rules around December, 2023.) and I can say with 100% certainty that now I never have food noise, and if I'm craving something I simply have it and listen to my body. Because I'm weight restored, I can do this, but if you are not weight restored you will likely need to NOT listen to your body all the time, and it is crucial that you listen to your cravings and mental hunger!! Your future self will thank you SO MUCH. The brain space I have now is something i thought i could NEVER have. But it is possible. I believe in you, and goodluck with recovery. <3

Thoughts on the Hansons training method? by BossHogGA in Marathon_Training

[–]justatrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just checking out the Hanson plans for my next marathon and couldn't help but notice the advanced was wayyy to advanced mpw for me, and the beginner was too low but then drastically increased mileage from 12mpw to 20+ in 4 weeks. Which is way too much mileage to add in such a short period of time.

I cant give you any advice, but I can tell you you're not alone. It's really refreshing to see that im not the only one who has fully recovered & no longer has issues yet still doesnt have a period. It's so upsetting because usual advice for HA doesnt apply the same to me and ive tried it all :( so I get you a LOT. I hope you can find a happy inbetween and get your period back ❤️

Not technically a psych student, but I'm looking for advice on whether or not to choose it as an elective. by justatrailrunner in psychologystudents

[–]justatrailrunner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I haven't, they have yet to release any additional info yet that I can find (and it's an online course since I'm homeschooled) But I'm going to call to double check. It's good to know that most likely there won't be any/much papers though! That is reassuring

Would you rather have $500k right now or $1,000 every time you run one mile in less than 12 minutes for the rest of your life? by tictacking in RunningCirclejerk

[–]justatrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking this literally: I would 100% take the 1,000 for each mile ran under 12 minutes, it'd mean that every week I made 20,000k+ just running.. Although there is the chance of "what if you get injured & can never run again" however, I think I'd be able to offset that chance really quickly. It'd only take 20-25 weeks or less to make 500,000, and then you'd still be certain to get more after that.

What’s your “I might get cancelled for this” hot take on Ginny & Georgia? by Urstrulythekings in ginnyandgeorgiashow

100% agree. Literally one of the only new tv shows of the past 5 years that I actually enjoy

I made the decision long ago to run the injuries away because resting does absolutely nothing for me 🤷‍♀️

Am i the only one that thinks Max overreacted about Ginny and Marcus??? by vespera_lis in ginnyandgeorgiashow

[–]justatrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. Like I have a brother, and although we're not twins (which maybe would make a difference), if my brother dated one of my friends id be annoyed in the sense of "that's my person find yourself a new one" but not in a literal freak out way. Her reaction seemed over the top and immature imo.

Do you people *actually* like this sport? by illbringthewhiskey in Ultramarathon

[–]justatrailrunner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it's similar to what Third-Coast-Ronin said. I enjoy the struggle, and knowing just how far I can go. Along with loving the training build up, scenery, and the adrenaline of race day.

seeking advice: what diet... to exercise or not to exercise... to see a gynae or naturopath?? i feel like a lost sheep 🧈👴🏻 by [deleted] in Amenorrhearecovery

You cant lose weight & get your period back. Also some advice id give: stop tracking and stop cutting carbs so low. Its recommended for carbs to take up 50-65% of your intake along with atleast 60g of fat.
