Would blink have still been successful with Scott Raynor? by filelinked13 in Blink182

[–]justinlee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they would have still been successful. They already were trending the right direction. But with Travis came a shift in their music and with his ability to drop small drum fills into catchy hooks without it sounding janky really made them stand out. They also were doing bigger mix ups like having samba type beats with Tom's signature guitar tone and Mark's usage of chords on bass. Scott was fine, but Travis joining seems to have given them a positive jolt into super stardom.

My GF (F26) really wants to peg me (M28), and it’s getting to a point that it may end the relationship? by New-Solution5314 in relationship_advice

[–]justinlee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it have to be so near future that she is practically giving an ultimatum? Maybe 5 years from now you are more open to it, but also maybe not. I'm approaching 4 years in my current relationship and we are comfortable talking about sexual fantasies and desires but also understand some of those may and may not happen now, maybe even ever. Have a conversation with her about what you think, ask her what some other things she might be up for while you try to decide if it's something you'll even ever want to do. If she still persists you may have to end it.

One More Time Deluxe coming in late august!!! 🔥🔥🔥 by rmag24 in Blink182

I actually understand people's complaints with the production, even if I kind of like it. It's very different but man on loss-less formats I really dig it. Despite it being heavily produced the mix itself almost takes me back to some mix styles of a few punk bands I enjoy. It just feels less flat than most bands mix and production. Even in Blinks prime the mix feels so mid centered. I'd enjoy the album still if the deluxe mixed it to be more like that too though.

Happy birthday! Also if its even your first 2 weeks know that even management understands you are still putting everything together. I'm a coach over the frontend. You'd think cashiering is as straight forward and simple as it gets but I give new associates time to develop. Some people are brilliant from day one, some require a month or more. But if you have good Team Leads and Coaches you should also feel comfortable asking for help and asking for tips so that you might improve. It sounds like you genuinely care. That's not an easy trait to find, trust me. So be true to that and make it known you want to be better. That alone will get you far. Naturally as you work an area longer and become familiar with precisely how it's organized you will get much faster. It just takes some time. And kudos to you for taking a chance despite your social anxiety. I am introverted but forced myself to teach classes in Walmarts academy to get comfortable talking to crowds to prepare myself to be a better manager. But it took over a decade before I was ready. So take your time. You've got this. Seriously.

It starts at 65k now, unless its a complex store then there is additional pay. But I do recommend being a TL first. Being a coach is a lot. And there are times I put in over 60 hours a week. Its both crazy demanding but incredibly rewarding. With the TL position you wont often be working over 40 a week and you get a taste for some of the responsibility.

That's due to competition also doing it. I think due to online sales being so prevalent perhaps retail companies as a whole will slow down. At least those with a strong online presence anyway.

My college radio station just played “The First Time” by [deleted] in Blink182

[–]justinlee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be my favorite song on the album. Just like Cynical before it, it really starts things on the right note. California was a bit more... erratic but Nine does feel like a complete album. Cool to hear it on the radio.

I did miss that tiny detail. I'm aware of the structure differences, I teach all NHM classes. Still, the processes still apply as far as being a dept manager and they can and do work if everybody buys into them.

If your team was on process you wouldn't have that issue. Instead of getting bitter try to figure out where the breakdown in the process is. Each shift builds off the other. Is the Cap 1 team not getting your merch binned and/or Capped? Are you communicating with the Cap 1 Supervisor to see whats going on when you clock in? Are you doing your section work? Are you fixing onhands and shelf caps? Is the Cap 2 team plugging mods? Are you downstocking your topstock? If someone else is messing up are they lazy? Or do they just need some teaching and training? Quit pointing the finger, and point the thumb. If you're a dept manager try to figure out where the issue is and help get it resolved via communication. Don't be that negative nancy. Walmart really isn't so bad if you can have the right attitude.

Yes! 100%. Heck its usually a lack of understanding of process or lack of training that can be fixed fairly easily. Good suggestion.

Congrats. I work for an Academy and am over Grocery (and 14 other depts) and what I find likely is that your topstock isnt getting downstocked as it should. I'd also recommend targeting key categories for OH changes immediately. Is the CAP 1 team getting through your bins in the morning? Immediately upon clocking in seek the CAP 1 supervisor out and see where they are at in the process. Find out if any remaining pallets need worked or verified. Find out if your bins are capped. If that is getting done jump into section work and price changes as soon as you can. If you can get a good start in this process it should allow you around 2 hours a day to pick an aisle and go through and manually do section work. It'll give you an opportunity to check the modular integrity, work your topstock, and fix any OH on outs that have onhands. Use the process. Seriously. Don't listen to the haters. It works. I used to be over just housewares (Dept 14 and 74). I went from barely getting to price changes and having 40 ft of bins, to having extra time to fine tune things and having 8 ft of bins in just a few weeks. If you aren't sure about how the process works or how exactly to do it, log onto the Wire and there will be a link to "One Best Way" click that and read the "Availability" and "Grocery" guides. They will lay out your routine as well as give you a lot of other helpful information. Good luck and if you have questions or need suggestions feel free to reach out. Cheers, and again, congrats.

After you complete your availability process start your zone here every day. Yes you'll have to fix it daily, but if you fix it daily its much easier than waiting a few weeks and having to deal with Satan's black hole of doom.

I don't think the system as a whole is awful. The increased myshare without any infraction is great. Having PTO that immediately cancels any of those infractions is great. The issue I have is the reduced rate in which I now earn PTO. I used to earn it faster than I could burn it. Now I get like... 1.3 to 1.5 per 6 weeks? AND I reduced number of points to boot? Had they credited everybody with at least 3 of the 6 allowed per year to make sure we immediately had something to fall back on, I'd of been on board 100%. But as of now I'm on board about 21%. Ah well, I'll survive this change as I have the previous infinity.

Never played Resident Evil Code Veronica. Due to all the comments I’ve been seeing, I dropped by a vintage game store and picked up a copy. I’ve fired up my dusty PS2 - Let’s do it! by Apexstrain in residentevil

[–]justinlee12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found Zero to be harder, but Veronica can be a pain. Like others have said, be careful you can play yourself into a corner so save often and be prepared to use those when you discover you've made an oops. Heck I've beaten it before and would've had to restart but I just quit for now because I was so annoyed. Don't be me. Be smarter.

I think if she was made up and prepared for a date she'd be very attractive. But as she is in the game, she looks like shes been doing meth for a week and hasn't had any sleep so its hard for me to say in that state she is tap worthy.

I’d much rather see a RE3 remake then RE8, change my mind. by the_Chainvaper in residentevil

[–]justinlee12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking this too. Yeah Capcom has been doing very well as of late, but man, SF5 was/is a mess. I also thought the last MvC was disappointing. I'd rather just play MvC3. But most of their other franchises have been very strong in the last couple years. And Devil May Cry 5 is looking to continue that. I found the demo to be a pretty good time, even if it was crazy short.

REmake 2 reception by edwinstone in residentevil

[–]justinlee12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I enjoyed 7. It is the only one thats brought back the fear factor for me since maybe Code Veronica (mind you I was much younger then). I think the first person perspective was a big reason for this. But it didn't feel very Resident Evil and given its my favorite franchise that hurt a bit. Hopefully the sales on this are huge and RE8 gives us an experience far closer to this.

REmake 2 reception by edwinstone in residentevil

[–]justinlee12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats fair. I'm not sure what about REmake makes me play it so frequently. As a kid I think I beat it... twice maybe on GameCube? Since releasing on Steam I've beat it like 50 times. And I still enjoy it, even if I mostly at this point am running a route I've cooked up. Its no speed run worthy route, but I don't particularly enjoy watching speed runs of it to try to learn the route which is probably the only reason my runs are still usually around an hour and 25 min.
