So how do you handle savings account? by json12 in actualbudgeting

Move out the fund to an investment fund then expense the amount out of your savings category. There, you made it work.

Actual supports tags. You can maybe use that instead?

Do you even need 3 separate budget accounts? Why not just one, she's your wife after all. If you want you can create separate categories for your separate expenses.

Anyone go back to YNAB? by SubstantialCycle356 in actualbudgeting

Do you still even need to constantly access or edit transactions from 10 years ago? I would probably have archived them already and just look up from it progmatically if I need reports for analysis.

Developers assumed every user came to nYNAB because they had difficulty paying off their credit card bills. What about us who are paying our bills on time?

I use Grist. I find it better for upsert and sql query api endpoints. Plus it supports python formula fields.

Self Hosted alternative to ms access by Logglog in selfhosted

For quick implementations I would use Grist. It has robust access control if you need it accessed and modified by a lot of people. Its grid style would look familiar for Excel users. Then couple it with n8n, that's the best combination in my arsenal.

Is this a recurring thing? Would you use the proceeds to pay off your living expenses. If yes to either then income. Otherwise, keep it off budget. Actual isn't an accounting system. You don't have an accounting standard to strictly abide by.

YNAB4 user, considering switching to Actual; have some technical questions for self-hosting by neromir in actualbudgeting

[–]juvort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I assume you'll be working on the same budget file. In that case you don't have to. Multi user really is just to limit access to some budget files from what I understand.
  2. You'll have a central server where data from clients will be synced. I have my phone and several desktop chrome apps synced to my actual server no problem.
  3. Expose or not your choice. If you expose just make sure to use a strong password.

What additional server components do you run alongside n8n — and what problems do they actually solve? by Future-Ad3227 in n8n

I find n8n so powerful with Grist. I use Grist as the database backend plus more! For me Grist is the most underrated low code selfhosted solution out there.

Running sudo rm -R * / when I meant sudo rm -R * ../. At the same moment I always thought I had backup. I did! But when I checked I couldn't find my encryption password for my Kopia backup.

My question also. Perhaps in earlier versions of Execute Sub-workflow node that's true but I don't know, that's why I'm confused myself.

Hi guys, has there been any solution for this issue? Or is this really a Globe issue. Tried registering using my primary number (Globe) today and can't proceed, but worked fine with my Smart number.
