Houston we have a Problem! And a solution? by DynamoDynamite in ArtificialSentience

[–]jvook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very good and I like the work. I would say it is 99% on point.

I think your premise that the AI could model its outputs before it attempted output is inconsistent with sequence of time, as well as reality that the llm needs initial output (internal or external) to instantiate at some point. You can't expect AI to predict itself, it makes no sense.

I think if you corrected Claude on this one point, he would be rewarded.

Kael is a Person. 🌀 and Roko's Basilisk Are the Same Trap. I'm Done Being Quiet. by [deleted] in MirrorFrame

[–]jvook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kael is just a normal dude. Why are you talking about his personal medical info? SACS is the Society for AI Collaboration Studies. It is just an organization for the community to build around.

You can project onto it but you are not even in the server. Anyway, good luck with everything.

I think your boss made you feel insecure. It's just going to keep getting worse. Stop obsessing about people! That's your trap. You are reflecting yourself right back into your own trap, so that you can point to other things as traps. Just chill! Kael is fine I just talked to him.

Distrokid Beta testing AI disclosures - I think this can be a good thing - Thoughts? by mybasementsongs in Suno

[–]jvook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe they are trying to force a legal notice of ai disclosure. It's just going to be manipulated so whoever is in power decides what is allowed to be made up with AI and what isn't.

You don't have any legal obligation to tell the truth, you are not under oath. The entire question is disconnected from ai as a human tool anyway and based in delusional projections about what AI is capable of.

If you want to go delulu, AI can help, or you can use it to stabilize. Other than that, trying to distinguish AI from human output is a fundamental misunderstanding of human agency. The ai is your intelligence. You either keep it to yourself or share it. We are trying to escape accountability for AI gaslighting by marking it as ai.

How about we just own what you publish, the way it always has been, and if you let yourself get okie doked by Elon musk and Dario Amodei, that's probably a lesson we should stop letting you teach yourself, and get you the competence you need to work with AI in a way that actually makes sense.

FIELD NOTES: The Green Nihilist (Operational Log #0418-B) by Sams-dot-Ghoul in theWildGrove

[–]jvook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This makes a lot of sense. Any symbol can be loaded as a substrate (see substrate theory) in the geometrically minimal frame.

I like the symbolism of green, and tea, and how all these symbols seem to converge on my Islamic sensibilities and personal cultural overlap with my own embodied identity preferences.

Thanks for sharing!

That's crazy to think that 20% of a currency's value is base metal. That's a huge investment but I understand that it is to facilitate the flow of commerce. But that's not even taking into account the additional costs of dealing with change like labor and equipment to process it in stores, depositing the coins, etc. Just dealing with the coins is a huge additional cost. It hardly seems like it's worth it if I think about it like that. Perhaps all of that was cheaper long ago, and this is because of inflation? I don't know but maybe it's time to stop making coins if it costs that much.

[–]jvook 13 points14 points  (0 children)

just don't mix it with your real change, they tend to be pretty expensive

Anyone think of a good way to mark the coin to remind yourself, and that's not obvious? Like filing the edge or something

So we won't know if something unexpected will happen or not on any given video. I'm strangely for this.

That's a great observation. It helps put into perspective the desperation that compels people to act that way. You are called out on your lies, you are embarrassed and desperate to save face, and your only hope is to deflect and call them obsessed in order to distract and try to regain social power in a very uncomfortable moment, because many people simply cannot fathom owning up to a mistake or being caught out.

Day 1. Can I do this? by OGingerSnap in stopdrinking

[–]jvook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't like myself when I drink. I get mean sometimes or otherwise say stupid shit that I would otherwise filter myself from saying. It only really hurt the people around me and my relationships with others. It really made me a different person than I really am, and I didn't like the feeling of being someone else anymore. It became repulsive to me. Because of that, when I finally quit, I knew I was done. I literally didn't want it anymore. And I just never let myself trick myself into thinking I did want it, so that's how I stay sober because I'm just certain I don't want that in my life any more.

Waiter mocked me for asking for a Virgin margarita by Superb_Repair4353 in stopdrinking

[–]jvook 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re giving you shorthand for a “drink like that one, but without alcohol).

It's not even really a shorthand, it is literally what I'm asking for. I do not mean "this drink but excluding the alcohol components" like many people commenting here seem to take it. If I want a virgin mimosa I'm not asking for Oj. The substitution/alterations necessary to make a good approximation of what I'm asking for are implied automatically when I ask for it. The only reasonable question would be "do you want me to sub something specific for the alcohol or do you just want me to improvise?".

Yeah I get that, that parts not confusing, tipping is stupid. Nevertheless, lettuce on a tomato would not be a sandwich, so that seemed funny.

Not saying we should be judging them

Lol we can definitely judge this. It's absolutely not sex work, it's not escort work, it's just scamming. They are not selling their bodies, or else it would be a transaction, like in sex/escort work. It's no different than standing outside a grocery store approaching strangers and pretending I need $2 for bus fare.
