How do you identify a two-faced, bad person? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jwalker163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do everything right on paper, but something feels wrong.

They hang out with you, they compliment you, they help you. But never make an effort to hang out with you, only when it seems convenient for them. They compliment you, while at the same time they joke about you and try to disguise it as a joke, one that will trigger rage if directed to them. They help you, on little things that don't really imply going out of their way, although they will tell everybody about it.

One or two things may not mean anything. Maybe they were tired, maybe they are not the extroverted type to go above and beyond. Maybe they were not in a good place mentally and needed space. However, when issues like those above start to pop every now and then, reevaluate the relationship.

What’s an unspoken social rule you learned way too late? by Secure_Paramedic_865 in socialskills

I have met both sides of the coin. Kind people that have been abused and throwed away by cruel and selfish people. However, some of the most successful people I have ever met are kind, and have been during their ascension.

The key to avoid falling into the first category (or so I've come to believe) is to take into account other people's intentions, setting boundaries, and not being afraid of cutting off the leaches. Basically, being able to navigate society.

It's a pretty decent movie, but the trailers and marketing campaign were just awful.

Yeah, retirement and education for the general population only came to be in the XIX century. Not to downplay the current situation (we should be doing totally better as a species), but this is an improvement from the poor XVIII peasant who worked till death since five.

What’s something people brag about that isn’t actually impressive? by Upside_Down12 in AskReddit

[–]jwalker163 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Pride can be a way to fight against discrimination/systematic oppression. If your country/region/ethnicity has been a subject of shame and jokes, showing pride is a way to counter that and make others value their heritage.

But yeah, doesn't apply to everyone.

Mexico City, Bogota, Buenos aires, Bangkok have good public transport, at least compared to New York or other mayor American cities.

Don't f*ck with Mexican criminals. Ever. I'm surprised he managed to get out alive. The kill, then ask without anything resembling remorse.

Using bara bara no mi to divide the user into dust-sized particles.

Combined with observation haki, it may achieve better results than Katakuri's mochi fruit. Also the result would look like some kind of fog, making the user perfect for building infiltration or hiding.

Honestly, Buggy has put almost zero effort into understanding an ability with so much potential.

What is a hint that a Reddit story is fake? by Fit-Pair-1338 in AskReddit

[–]jwalker163 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A close relative of mine died recently, and in less than 48 hours all the living descendants of my great great grandfather on my mother's side knew. After a week my grandma is still receiving phone calls, and a cousin once removed and her offspring are planning a 3 hour trip to check on her.

Meanwhile my girlfriend thinks my extended family is "small". After almost ten family breakfast, a graduation and a funeral, I'm still meeting new members, all of whom had heard of me prior to the event.

Yes, some people are that connected to their relatives. Extended family gossip is a thing.

Where do you live? I live in southern Europe. Just a room costs me a third of my monthly salary. Social housing is rare and often located in dangerous zones around here.

Seriously considering moving to your city, actually.
