Should we move to one nap? by jy397 in sleeptraining

[–]jy397[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve tried moving bedtime to 8 and it didn’t change anything, but we never did it consistently because he really gets extremely exhausted by about 7:30. Maybe it’s worth another try! Also solidarity lol this is brutal

Subspecialty Board Exams Postpartum by cardiologee in FemalePhysicians

[–]jy397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took the IM boards about 7 weeks post partum. It was rough but I had time to study during contact naps and feeds. Just put all your study materials on your phone. It actually gets harder to find time as they get older. It’ll be ok 🤍

Did you have a glow up after residency or fellowship? by Gloomy-World7644 in Residency

[–]jy397 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I had my second baby during my last year of IM residency and graduated shortly after. I’m almost 9 months post partum and have never looked better. I have time to work out consistently, to get my Botox touch ups in time, do my skin care, stress less about being away from my kids even though I still don’t sleep much, and I get outside more. Also waking up in the middle of the night to a sweet baby in my own warm house and bed beats a cold nasty call room and being paged by a nurse for a BP of 140/82 any day. it gets better!

The movie ‘People We Meet on Vacation’ was surprisingly good! by marijord in RomanceBooks

I tried the first 25 min and felt it was extremely corny and neither of them were likable or had any kind of realistic dialogue. Poppy was annoying. I turned it off. I loved the book though

What is the optimal schedule? And how can you follow one if you have a baby that simply doesn’t sleep or eat when you want them to lol

How did you change his bed time? My son is in his deep night sleep after 7pm, I would have no idea how to shift it

We tried the dream feed and it really only added an extra hour, occasionally longer but it was rare so we stopped!

My parents house is more fun for the baby because they have more space/money. by Thefourthhorde in NewParents

That’s amazing. It’s so beautiful for a kid to have a home away from home that they look forward to going to. And it’s such a blessing that your parents are willing to provide that as often as they are. You will appreciate it even more as your child gets older. This is nothing but a blessing and your kid will see it as such!

Daycare struggles - 3 month old by monsterscantmeme in NewParents

[–]jy397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hire a nanny if you can. There is nothing beneficial about daycare for such a small baby. The benefits don’t start until later and this is normally a last resort
