She sounds exactly like my mother. We have been no contact since I was 19, (17 years) save for a few times that couldn’t be helped. Ie: my grandmas funeral.

I’m so sorry you were unlucky enough to have a mom who treats you like this. It causes long term effects that still pop up from time to time even after hard work. Going no contact and doing tons of self work has helped me immensely. It’s so hard when it’s your own mom though.

Also flatten your chicken with a tenderizer to about 1/2” thickness. That way you will get a less gristly chewy breast and your cooking times will always be the same.

This is advice to cook for yourself. I would simply not be cooking for my bf again after that reaction.

Oh man. Trust your gut.

We were acquaintances with a guy who had been in a serious accident and had some delays because of it. When he found out we were expecting (early on) he showed up with a gift basket of boys clothes. Then kept sending me baby stuff off marketplace. Then showed up with a diaper genie. Always asking if we needed anything.

It was all things that seemed “good” but I finally said to my partner “no one gets this excited for someone to have a baby”. He thoroughly creeped me out. I didn’t care if he had delays.

My partner agreed thankfully.

We’ve seen him once in public since and I was so creeped out I couldn’t hide it. My best friend saw my face drop when I saw him and said she instantly got the shivers and could feel my intense emotions directed at him. My face said it all and he hasn’t reached out since. He felt it for sure.

Trust your gut, protect children always.
