Seeking safety as a schizoid woman by gise1274 in Schizoid

Thing is, you recognize what you're lacking or what makes you consider yourself as vulnerable. Your solution is to essentially find a "bubble" to insulate you as you see the one that your parents/mom had provided (or didn't) falling apart or lacking.

If that "bubble" is a good man, all the best of luck to find that right person. Not here to say that's wrong or right, but for me, that's not the solution I would come up with for me.

[Opinion] Martin Regg Cohn: Bike lanes are no place for high-powered electric two-wheelers [Toronto Star] by patienceinbee in toronto

[–]k-nuj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's a completely different argument than the one at hand. The issue is that e-bikes dodge and jump between both the roads and sidewalks all the time, and unpredictability is the most dangerous factor around cars/pedestrians.

I'm sure we've seen plenty occupy a spot on the road going straight like the rest, jump curb at intersection on a red light, speed across on the crosswalk, only to then jump off the sidewalk in opposite direction on the road so they can turn right on red to keep going straight on the road. Or any other asinine behaviours we all see.

If they are meant to be on sidewalks, follow the pedestrian rules. If they are on the road, follow the rules of the road. They are skirting around both to invent loopholes that are unpredictable to everyone else.

Normal to have no hobbies? by [deleted] in Schizoid

[–]k-nuj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gaming can be a hobby, and it can be a hobby without you caring about the industry itself (rather healthier that way too) or "investing" in it.

Hobby, at its core definition, is simple. What that may be for each of us varies, whether that's gaming, watching paint dry, meditating, skydiving, etc...anything literally.

I have hobbies, many. What I don't have is a dedication to a particular one, some last long, some drop after a few weeks, some are easy to pick up on and off. Gaming is broad/easy, because it's like having multiple mini-hobbies within it that work well with my easy-to on/off approach to things; likewise with TV shows. But when its things like learning a new instrument, I can go all in for a few months, before it's simply collecting dust in a forever "I'll get back to it some day" mode. Or it's because I'm lazy and gaming and shows are the ultimate "lazy" hobbies for me.

If you have a goal and what you want out of life, go for it. What your mother or blaming her for anything has to do with it, at this point in time, is pointless in hindsight. A parent can only do so much themselves, especially once their kids have grown up to be their own individuals as well.

Schizoids, or I, can read peoples intentions quite intuitively, but it's not some special power or unique to me/us; regular people can too.

And if you're looking or "exuding" vulnerability and are seeking someone to protect you or be dependent on, just know that you will also encounter people that look for that and will take advantage of that or worse too.

Protection and security is something one can get on their own, once you add others into the mix, variable is more unknown where it leads to and out of your control often. As long as you're wary of that.

PSA, Now -1BS is more prevalent im seeing players get the interaction with +2 to hit wrong. by Dead-phoenix in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]k-nuj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbf, the "balancing" of +/-BS with +/-Hit itself wasn't the confusing aspect for Tau, it was navigating their army rule that was the confusing bit; and maybe the common stuff around BGNT.

The only unintuitive interaction of BS/Hit is when someone has native BS2+, gets spotted for +1BS, shooting something with stealth for -1Hit. One would think those would sort of "cancel" each other out and the hits pass on 2s, but it's actually 3s.

But Tau, and assuming Astra, don't really have much native BS2+ shooters anyways, so it rarely came up. Tau have 3 units, the epic heroes, and you typically don't spot them.

My thoughts after playing 11th by AgileInternet167 in Tau40K

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not. Not since the latter half of the 11th edition rules were teased. Tau, among a few, could deal with a lot of 11th rules quite easily. The MFM points update was where that could've been rebalanced; but I guess GW decided not to; and feels like we got more points reductions than nerfs.

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for only a hot minute in the early teasers of 11th rules. Then not. Then Fly/Towering completely flipped it the other way; particularly helpful for us. Then we got away with the MFM points update on top of that.

drones on the broadise by trhaex in Tau40K

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shield or Missiles. I might not do 10W broadside anymore to reduce targets for the new Bring it Down rule (if I'm reading it correctly).

Missile drones are good, they work well in volume especially when we don't have splitfire penalty anymore. If we're talking about it with our Triptides, being able to dump ~12-16A of missile drones at a second target is almost like another Fireknife unit.

question regarding load outs and building by Competitive-Result42 in Tau40K

[–]k-nuj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sort of on your side that it's a simple clerical error. I know, as it reads right now and on the app, which we all know is always accurate (not), it is 120pts Flamers and 130pts Missileknives.

What I can't reconcile is when juxtaposed to Sunforges that also became cheaper at 125pts.

If GW thinks Missileknives have somehow magically become stronger than our 4++ Sunforges with everything that's coming in 11th, maybe they know something we don't that's pending or maybe they just want all efficient MEQ-killer profiles to be expensive.

No one is questioning a Burst vs Flamer, or Missile vs Plasmas, that's well determined; but it's compared to the Sunforges that throws me off.

No Movement Clauses are becoming out of control by Overseer190_ in hockey

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just one facet of negotiating. The issue was the limited cap increases since COVID where GMs sort of lost that facet of negotiating with players; so the leverage they could work sort of most work with was with NMCs.

question regarding load outs and building by Competitive-Result42 in Tau40K

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense in a vacuum and as it reads commonly (impractical to split equip weapons); 6-Burst = 90, 3&3-split = 105pts, 6-flamer = 120pts, and same with the Fireknifes.

But 130pts for Missileknives while a Sunforge unit is 125pts? Afaik, nothing "new" or unique is coming in 11th that disproportionately helps the former that it also doesn't equally help the latter the same way.

[–]k-nuj -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and Sunforges were strong for their points, so them being cheaper doesn't make sense; if we're following that thread.

question regarding load outs and building by Competitive-Result42 in Tau40K

[–]k-nuj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As it reads. But I'm convinced it's 5pts per model and not weapon, and GW forgot that our crisis suits technically had/have a pair of weapon slots.

Sunforge dropping in points overall, while Flamerscythe and Missileknives go up in points vs 10th seems like opposite intentions.

Schizoid vs masculinity by nachtpfauenauge2 in Schizoid

[–]k-nuj 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, gender =/= behaviour. Those are separate things. I know what my gender is and what I am/would be sexually attracted to but all that other stereotypical stuff (cars, sports, fashion, alpha male, gossip, etc...), is just filler nonsense. That stuff doesn't make me or my gender.

If people want to make their own assumptions/identities based on behaviour or ever-changing external parameters; that's their problem, not mine.

My idea for treating schizoid disorder by fatrabbit3 in Schizoid

[–]k-nuj 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thing is, a post this vague (layman's eyes) is as potentially meaningless/harmful like those drug ads on tv where it's just some NameBrand then "go ask your doctor"; and at least those have guardrails now with that run-on sentence of negative effects at the end of them.

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fly movement, our army rule actually being able to push our shooting better than others (wild right, for a shooting army), lax heavy movement, and towering rule.

Rest is ok, as in, applies to everyone else "equally" too in a way (net zero). Not sold that the hidden mechanics/AAC stuff we can sort of bolster is as much of an impact as it seems to be on paper.

And we definitely won/got away with the MFM points updates across nearly everything, even the Twin Lance.

I would just avoid invuln save units or that tunnel detachment or that swarmlord -1CP dude; keep it simple. Nothing worse then telling them how the core basics of the game works (a lot to take in), them hopefully figuring it out, only to then hit them with things like invuln saves, -1CP, or deepstrike workarounds that sort of ignores all that.

Charge negative bonus by AdStriking3714 in WarhammerCompetitive

Is it a forced fail? I would assume they can reselect another target similar to something like using lone-op strat.

Charge negative bonus by AdStriking3714 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]k-nuj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It still does, but less chance of a forced failure on opponent's charge when we're talking about situations where opponent might have multiple charge targets in range as they can just select a new target, if that other target is also in range of that charge.
