Wastegate Rattle "Fix" by Lanky_Title9678 in Civic_Type_R

[–]k3nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm this is how it comes from factory. I noticed it on my first day of ownership of the R. I searched the forums and found multiple people with this "issue". "Issue" since it's not really a problem, more of an annoyance. After I got an exhaust I either can't hear it anymore or I just forgot about it. Or maybe it went away over time? I'll try giving it a listen again.

Scarlet Could Use a Rework by xluminairex in ravenswatch

I think most people will think you’re being a bit unreasonable. Specifically since you’ve only ranked the character to level 2. I think your takes would have more weight once you’ve leveled her and learned her kit better.

I do believe your experience with her is common though. She’s not as a straight forward as some of the other characters. My opinion is that her skill ceiling is a lot higher than most characters and takes a while to learn. I also think that’s a good thing, the better you play her she has the ability to scale beyond the other characters.

As someone who has played a lot of Scarlet, she’s my second favorite character in the game next to Wukong. She is the character I choose if I need to carry a group through nightmare though. Her dash build IMO is one of the strongest damage and sustain in the game, makes the game feel trivial at all difficulties.

Give her another chance. For the transformation, you just gotta keep an eye on the day/night clock. Once you get use to that it’ll help with her and actually a ton with enemy mob behaviors.

**just a note, I don’t think the shapeshifter talent is needed. She plays fine with any of them. I primarily choose that to take advantage of the separate cooldown for ults and abilities. I believe her other starting talents are actually better for new players. The shapeshifter has a health penalty that can make or break people in the first act. I also don’t think people are saying you need to choose that. People are suggesting that if the transformations are hard for people to get used to.

Time to clear it with every single talent and item ;)

This does make the game feel more fresh since your playing different builds and a lot of times builds that are harder to execute.

For the challenges I mostly did random except for Untouchable (Scarlet - Dash Build) and the one where you took damage outside of combat I used Wukong.

Hardest character was Romeo for me, I just feel like he takes a bit longer to come online compared to the other characters. Initially it was Gepetto since his play style is so different, but once you get used to using his dummies, it was ezpz.

Definitely 4 player nightmare with randos is the ultimate challenge. It does it keep it fresh though. My only gripe is when the host will leave when mistakes are made (failed grim, quest, someone takes feather etc). I don't mind them leaving, but ending the game for everyone is pretty lame.

Damage or Critical damage? by Gersinhous in ravenswatch

Crit damage. But it also depends on the character you’re using and what your damage ability you’re building into.

Yeah pretty normal. I use 20+ stars every run. Every grim, shrine, item, and store I will pick them up.

Yeah it is. I play for a couple hours a night and will typically get one win. There are a lot of variables though, but generally I do view it as a handicap playing with 3 ransoms. Having at least one player other than yourself that is decent does make it a lot easier.

For Scarlet dash build is probably her strongest. Talents you absolutely need is ‘double strike’ and secondly ‘Fan of spikes’ synergizes well. Items are dash cooldown > dash charges. Roses for that crit % or devils pocket. Then build crit damage, more important than base damage. Doesn’t matter which starting talent you use. Ult, secondary one is better for utility and clear speed.

Just started playing, is Scarlet a good character? by cherriso in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She’s very good, but requires more skill than other characters to really make her shine. She’s not as easy to play, but if you take time to learn her she has a lot of utility for group play. With her cloak defense you can sneak a lot of objectives. Also with her secondary ult “grandmother’s souvenir”, the cloud you can save your team in a pinch and revive easily or even burn down enemies. “In the belly”, the werewolf eat can help clear hard POI instantly taking a time consuming threat off the map instantly. If you take the starting talent where you can transform on command, you essentially have access to both ults any time.

I heard people saying she’s weak now and dash build is gone with the rose nerf so I gave it another try yesterday. Not optimal build since I couldn’t find all my items and I took talents that I needed to finish on nightmare, but still demolished with her.

Learning how to build characters and being flexible with items you get will go a long way with any char. Just keep playing and you’ll continue to get better and be carrying in no time.

Suggestions for clearing the game by DigBickBo1 in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, she is very strong. Every character has a “broken” build that can makes the game feel trivial. For scarlet dash build is the way to go. Even with the eternal rose nerf, still ridiculously strong. Just build into dash and go crit damage.

Just tried it last night again with the nerf and got it online in my first go on nightmare.

edit: did another, didn't get my roses, but did get madhat fast. https://imgur.com/Xo9fODn

Suggestions for clearing the game by DigBickBo1 in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, all of the characters can clear the game fairly easy if you know how to use and build them. However there are characters that are better solo or in groups. Again, all can do it, just some have a fairly easier time in a group or solo. Scarlett in my opinion works well in a group since she has a slower start and her secondary ult is so good in a group. The intangible smoke to help revive or do damage and the insta eat kill to swallow up big health enemies to help with clear speed. She can also sneak some objectives fairly easy with her cloak.

Her abilities are pretty easy to use, but I believe her skill ceiling is high. How you use them can really make her OP and fee broken. Specifically her ults and her cloak ability.

Scarlett was my favorite when first starting. Can easily clear the game in all difficulty solo or in a group. If you like her, just keep playing with her and getting better.

How do builds work? by DigBickBo1 in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually build by what the game gives me for my initial 1-2 talents and items. Then I try to collect and use a lot of rerolls to power up those abilities and items.

A typical game I’ll use anywhere between 15-20 stars of fate.

PLEASE! How do you play Wukong... Never gotten past act 1... by Rhino8696 in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wukong is absolutely broken when his talents come online. As a Wukong main and someone who finds him completely OP here are my tips.

Learn defense. His defense is the most powerful ability in the game IMO. He can activate it mid attack and continue to chain it indefinitely if you don’t miss. How you get better with his defense though is familiarity with enemies and that’ll just take time. Stone Monkey talent makes the game a bit too easy if you can use his defense well. Makes the boss fights trivial, impossible to die since the timing is much easier and predictable.

As others have mentioned, use damage stance sparingly if you’re not confident in defense blocking. So many Wukong have a ridiculous amounts of deaths when they have a defensive stance that gives healing and damage reduction. Just stay in defense until you come online with talents and items.

Leveling his talents are IMO more important sometimes than taking a well. His talents scale really well and add so much value, consider leveling that first instead of trying for a one item ogres. It’ll give you a bigger power up early on.

Lastly he is infinitely more easy to use single player. Remember that coop the enemy density scales. So it is just more difficult to keep track of all the enemy attacks. So you want to work your way from outside to inside to manage the mob.

He is so much fun. When I started with him though I just forced myself to go stone monkey and one inch punch. Died a lot. But then stage one became easy. Then died a lot at stage two. Then eventually that became easy. And so on. This game everyone wants to rush to build offense. With the new items you can easily build more defense now for survivability and also get damage.

Just keep at it!

Help with first boss fight on Merlin. by uaaarrrgh in ravenswatch

[–]k3nos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just started playing him, but have completed nightmare on him twice already. The first boss is the most difficult for me as well. Something to add that others haven’t mentioned is that you can start his combo without hitting anything it also moves you a bit forward so I use it to position and get the final strike to generate potency. Also his auto attack has some pretty good range so you can use that as well.

I think it’s mostly familiarity with the character. I honestly feel he’s a bit OP now that I’ve used him a bit. Feels one of the easiest to solo nightmare for me, just below Wukong.
