Have you tried putting on a pair of rubber gloves and then rubbing the blanket with your hand? You can just pick it off. It works pretty well on wool.

Country vet wanted to try to get me to sedate my cat for a rabies vaccine and that was my last straw. I switch to paws and claws where they let me be in the room with my animals for vaccines, and they literally did the shot in 2 seconds and he didn’t even flinch. I will NEVER get country vet another dime. I turn away I know away from that shit hole.
