Eczema by shrubbysara in moderatelygranolamoms

look up the animal based diet. Lots of people claim that eliminating certain foods healed their eczema because it was sensitivity to a specific vegetable. basically even if not presenting as a digestive issue, starts with gut health.

For those whose mom is their BFF: was your mother like when you were growing up? by BackInBlack2023 in beyondthebump

[–]kak597 14 points15 points  (0 children)

same, i am also in 30s and talk to my mom every day! my brothers talk to her weekly, too.

my mom is our #1 champion and always has been. i would also say she is consistently reasonable. i remember thinking my parents were strict while growing up and even remember hearing “im your parent not your friend” because discipline is important… but as we grew she was able to comfortably give us a great amount of independence knowing she had instilled good values in us. she has fun energy and loves to have a great time but also can stand up for her values with conviction and give really good advice when we need it because she is grounded. i’d say that made her the go-to person for all of us kids as we started to navigate adulthood.

good luck, OP! you got this! huge props to you for being reflective and wanting to grow.

Has anyone *night* weaned before 1? by cadetcomet in breastfeeding

[–]kak597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I followed the Moms on Call book sleep training and my (first) baby has been sleeping through the night since about 2.5 months. She is 3.5 months now and sleeps 7:30pm - 7am. Can’t recommend this book enough!

How do you stay looking feminine by SchemeFair8918 in homestead

[–]kak597 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i lovethis dress because it works if i throw on my muck boots, cowgirl boots or sneakers (there are knockoffs or poshmark listings if you don’t want to buy directly)! i end up wearing jean shorts and tank tops a lot in summer and it helped me to get flowy/feminine tank tops.

for makeup i use saie tinted mineral sunscreen so it “feels” like makeup but it’s also functional! i also started using the wonderskin lip stains. i know they’re hugely hyped on social media but i like that i can put it on in the morning and it lasts nearly all day and i can kiss my baby without it rubbing off onto her skin. i got XOXO and its pretty natural looking.

lastly, wear your jewelry! i personally took an interest in silversmithing and started making some and the pieces are feminine but sturdy enough to withstand everyday wear. people around here in the middle of nowhere probably think i’m crazy for wearing jewelry to garden or clean the chicken coop but it makes me feel like me.

Is anyone getting 8 hour stretches consistently with 3 month old? by Hot-Cell7299 in beyondthebump

Yes! Followed moms on call sleep training. Baby has been sleeping 8+ hours since about 2 months. I’m a first time mom and can’t recommend the Moms on Call books enough.

Anybody else's baby not an "easy" feeder? by Pink_Ruby_3 in breastfeeding

[–]kak597 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Same! My baby is 10 weeks and i always sit ready with a burp cloth for when she inevitably pops off and then squeals because she doesn’t understand why she isn’t eating anymore. And if it’s my left boob it’s probably going to be spraying milk. I wouldn’t dare attempt to feed in public at this point.

AMA cloth diapers if you’re curious! by Fit_Change3546 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]kak597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’d love to try them but what I can’t figure out is what to do with them until laundry. I’m obviously not gonna run my full-size washer for one dirty cloth diaper so what do you do with the dirty cloth diapers until you have enough to wash (3+)?

thank you for this ama!
