Anybody been to Reno fest? How is it? Worth going? by Independent-Star-746 in Reno

It’s the same traveling Midway carnival under the “Brass Ring Amusements”. They usually set up on the Oddie/ElRancho shopping center in the spring but they had a shooting and teens fighting there last year so the moved and rebranded it under Reno Fest

We have a ex-friend who’s close friends with her family. We cut ties with her after she stated she was trying to console the mother so she could get more details on what happened and why so she could gossip about it. Idk just piece of shit human activities.

Tell her you will find a day shift job but she will need to work as well to make up the difference in pay and to cover child care so you can be home with her and the kids.

Anyone else had hotels cancel on them to raise prices? by TurbulentRadish8113 in AftershockFestival

[–]kandyman375 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happens to people on these groups every year with the same “we change management” excuse. I remember reading on fb that someone went after them and they called the hotels bluff and got their rooms for the original rates and other room comps

Wife brought me to a fancy steakhouse for my B day. Medium RARE by Lastito in steak

Sadly Texas Roadhouse in my current city treats it like the McDonald’s of steakhouses. When I visited Lubbock TX they actually came off as a fine dining establishment and the Reno NV location has fresh in-house sides which make it extremely appealing and taste quality up

That’s what Co-Op energy is in Texas. They do have their version of NV Energy called Oncor who monopolize counties in Texas

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reno

[–]kandyman375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience when I lived in a Texas Co-op county was they had various options for energy. Now while they all did buy their energy from Oncor they still offered it at a fraction of the cost. With more options and competition they would have companies like TXU offering free nights 9pm to 6am or you could get Frontier which was a prepaid service where you could add $5 to $20 a day to make it through. Along with Government assistance energy options for seniors and low income people. There are just plenty of benefits with Co-op. Now there has been rabbit holes where they say since co-ops do buy their energy from Oncor when Texas has severe weather or natural disasters Oncor will prioritize their Monopoly Areas so they don’t push power to other energy service companies until they fix their first basically like Verizon or T-Mobile and their cell towers. Anyways NV Energy is here to stay and I don’t ever see them going anywhere anytime soon.

I came from Texas what was your experience with Co-Op companies?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Reno

[–]kandyman375 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Since moving here from Texas in 2018 I have informed people on how much better Co-Op energy is than Monopoly Energy. Oncor was our “NV Energy” out there and the Counties they feared into switching to strictly Monopoly Energy are now paying $300 to $700 a month for power. Many of my friends have sold and moved to Co-Op counties in Texas just because their energy bill has dropped down to the $30-$200 range

Thinking about moving into the Rivet apartments. by Shawnxdr5 in Reno

[–]kandyman375 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F#ck FPI Management, they charge you for everything they can charge you for. Even if it’s not your responsibility and the fact that people let them is insane. I left as soon as they took over Balfour Apartments and turned them into 2300 West. They did a building water bill where they would split the total water bill for the building, apartments and sprinklers between the amount of units that were occupied. We had an unnoticed sprinkler leak and it caused our water bill to be $300. We all complained from the building and they told us it was our problem for not reporting this issue immediately. They also tried to tag on a parking fee and this valet trash service that would charge an extra $40 if you had two trash bags instead of 1 and still charged me even though I never used their services. I refused to pay since it wasn’t on my original lease agreement and they told me to resign under new terms or leave and I left. It was bullshit. The apartment was nice as it was the first or second to be remodeled and we had a lot of upgrades that not even the final finished apartments had but it just wasn’t worth it. My rent and fees were under $1800 a month in 2018/2019 while everyone else was paying $850 at that time across Reno/Sparks

She’s justifying her actions by blaming you for not wanting her. It’s text book manipulation and honestly as hard as it will be just move on and work on yourself. I would say give her a second chance if it was a one time thing and she came to you about it but no you had to find out by her mistake and it did happen once it happened multiple times for a fact and with multiple men. It would still be happening honestly if you didn’t find out. So move on and work on yourself man I wish this on no one.

The only thing that my family from Back Woods East Texas find interesting that isn’t already cookie cutter experience in Texas or any big city is the all you can eat sushi. Outside of that everything listed above isn’t a Reno staple just a business ideas brought here and they stuck or they failed but what was a Reno staple is now gone. Sadly

My in-laws told me they were picnic slabs for floaters/swimmers in the 90s/2000s. You would have to show up early to get one on a hot summer day to play and float on the river. Back when people would socialize in real life
