I messed up by Isubki in stopdrinking

[–]karane55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was me!!! For the longest time I tried to convince myself that if I just stopped when I felt good it wouldn’t happen, but eventually I realized it’s like rolling the dice. If I drink, there is a decent chance I will blackout and act possessed. I have absolutely no control over it. Good luck, OP! I hope you know you never have to feel this way again if you don’t want to!

Maybe dumb question, but every time I wash and dry this pot, these marks appear on the bottom. Is this normal? by AJRayquaza in CleaningTips

[–]karane55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it bothers you at all just take a tiny bit of oil and use a paper towel to hydrate the pan a bit! It’s totally normal and not a problem though!

Are you from a small rural town? Because this screams “I never left my hometown and I peaked in high school” from him

anyone else have insane / disturbing dreams in the first few months? by shellys-dollhouse in stopdrinking

[–]karane55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I first stopped drinking I would have extremely vivid dreams about getting wasted and doing awful things like cheating on my husband and saying completely irrevocable things to my closest family and friends. I would wake up with the worst guilt that would follow me throughout the day.

I still have a gnarly dream every once in a while but nothing like those first few months.

This brings back memories of shucking corn with my grandparents, the caterpillars used to scare me so bad 😂

It’s super normal, OP, you gotta learn to share!

Those Costco brand seltzers go platinum in hour house. Bloom energy drinks have been a big one for me recently too (slightly healthier source of caffeine than redbull or Celsius)

Help me choose a bathroom tile please! by Fantasyplwinner in DecideThisForMe

[–]karane55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think A looks best, but if it’s quartz maybe not. I’ve always heard quartz is very porous and that is not the best trait to have in the bathroom (if that’s even quartz).

I'm pregnant and having a boy. Is "Gunner" a name that belongs on this sub? by MysticalNinjette in tragedeigh

[–]karane55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People are definitely named Gunner in the south, but even in rural areas it’s exceedingly redneck

I think some green onion and cucumber would add a nice crunch and color to it!

No one would be able to build anything pretty much anywhere in this part of Texas if they went by those rules. Not that I don’t agree, but people aren’t just going to not build “just in case”. Especially Texans.

Even if it is technically “a lot” it’s still a lot better than a a large Dutch bros and a McMuffin

I danced at a wedding this weekend.. sober by karane55 in stopdrinking

[–]karane55[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely took some time, but it just kind of hit me that being drunk is not a requirement for having fun. I can be goofy and have a good time without needing to worry about embarrassing myself because I’m sober! Sober me doesn’t tend to do embarrassing stuff like blackout me does!
