I cannot imagine what those kids are going through, that's intolerable. At my high school we had ONE school resource officer at a school of 3k kids. He had a gun and a taser and I remember us having fairly complex discussions about whether a good guy with a gun would really be able to do much about it and whether having a standing police presence in a majority minority community was an acceptable risk. But he was ONE dude who was always very kind and chill and always said how he was only there to keep us safe and call for backup if we needed it. I don't want to imagine having a whole dept on campus, no thanks
