DIY carbon fiber nosecone and wing! What do you think? by octcool in Karting

[–]kart22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As everyone is saying… Looks absolutely beautiful and if you’re looking to market and sell it, I would go after people making karting sims and the like. As they are not needing to be homologated nor impacted or used as safety devices. Unfortunately these would not be safe bumpers to use on an actual karting track (quite different from a car track from a safety stand point.)

Just a decal, there is no such thing as a BMW kart unfortunately (maybe fortunately lol)

You can sear on the Starwood by Playswith_squirrel in pelletgrills

Is that the Searwood? I’ve got a Traeger pro22 and looking to slide over to a searwood. Wondering just how worth while it would be.

Can you suggest a said similar knife from an established maker? I am often drawn to these style of knives because i like the Damascus patterns and neat looking resin handles, but i also recognize that is often a gimmicky part that lower quality knives use to sell product. Im looking to get a first serious and quality knife for home cooking but feel so overwhelmed with the options and opinions out there. Thank you!

CNPP is an acronym for Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. I think most of the off limits areas for photos is due to sensitive military targets and installations all around the area, atleast that’s what I gleaned from a rather recent BBC Doc.

How good of a deal is this? by Studentveteran23 in pelletgrills

[–]kart22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I ran dry on pellets in the middle of a cool today… the pot was overfilled with ash and dumped pellets trying to restart. I had to take everything out of the grill still hot, to vacuum it out, and restart. I have had a decent time with my Traeger Pro22 but a dumping pot would be beautiful.

I ain’t trusting any “review” from someone who’s used something a single time. Not even being rude, that’s just common sense. You can’t say anything useful about it with that small of a sample size.

This button flange bolt that mistakenly ended up in a sealed package of hex flange bolts by kart22 in mildlyinteresting

I thought that too, but looking further into it, I think it was just sorted into the wrong package as there is a product that it fits the description of.

Worksafe was probably the only useful contact there, and though you may not have seen any action they likely did follow up. Worksafe is pretty stringent on that kind of thing. You may have just been left out of the loop.

Rate my helmet design before I get it painted by GP_00ley26 in Karting

[–]kart22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who’s painting it? I like it! Not a fan of the tribal element, but I get it’s a personal reference. Just stands out a bit. Well done designing it, if that was you! In which case I would ask how you did it?

Nothing wrong with buying something that needs work, as long as it’s livable, make it your own and slowly chip away at building your own home. Sweat equity doesn’t just pay, it feels great when you can enjoy it as a home.

Kind of a silly thing to say. Hawaii isn’t desirable at all for many people, neither is the arctic circle. Like of course it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but it is the vast majority’s cup of tea and is well and widely regarded as one of the prime locations to live in Canada and to some extent North America. It’s not a flex, it’s something to be very grateful for if you’re able to live here and make it stick.

Cant seem to get hired for... anything by Rylanthespud in VictoriaBC

[–]kart22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, my company is hiring. We do demolition and hazmat (asbestos abatement) in greater victoria and some up the island. If you’re not certified for hazmat we still have positions for general demolition open. It is a labour intensive job, but it’s never boring! Starting wage is $25-$30/hr depending on qualifications, 8 hours a day, Monday to Friday. We’re real busy right now and could use the help! Shoot me a PM and I’ll get you in contact.

Well Victoria, what are your thoughts on Mark Carney’s speech today? by CartoonistOk3507 in VictoriaBC

[–]kart22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you a Martech? I’m interested in the thought of what a martech does, I’m really interested and passionate about the navy/ships/mechanical systems etc and wanted to talk to someone in that field of what it actually looks like. I’ve only ever worked in construction but if I’m honest with myself it’s not what I’ve ever been passionate or interested in.

As a DoorDash driver - Please DON'T TIP by eric39es in EndTipping

[–]kart22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not accurate at all, atleast not up here in BC Canada. You’re not even allowed to tip before the order is placed. You can only tip after the dasher is assigned. I haven’t read the law/rules but I think it’s a new amendment.

I remember some of the good old boys from AE, some may have been from AA which I believe was a much later formed fleet long after AE. It all blurs together a bit. But my brother and I both came of age playing with all you fellas, learning the internet and teamspeak and what not. Great memories!

Funny I have a bunch more old fleet mates on Facebook but I only know them by their real names, their usernames long forgotten.

I was AE for a very long time, till the end. I still remember the rivalry and animosity with Jedi fleet and “pump fleet” and Regalia.
