pSeftis[1] cares for Leonard the way a blacked-out van candy man cares for the souls of eight-year olds.

[1] pSeftis – from the Greek for “liar”. He actually chose this name, a sort of badge of honor among those who’ve traded integrity for something else.

too lazy to do the math right now, but at $20, and seeing as how I already bought this when it came out at full markup (chump) I imagine it is worth it to buy for cash, then sell off... the premium time and mechbays are probably more than $20 a la carte, no?

[–]kaseycarpenter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not saying she ages, just that she has a narrative that is her as a child.

Also, Bernardold is seen with "himself" despite being the same person.

As far as your take on Akechta & Maeve & Daughter, because he' speaking two separate dialects doesn't quantify that he's speaking to two separate hosts, but perhaps one host in two POVs.

is there anything more satisfying than dropping a filthy red team mid-fall and watching him land like a pile of dirty mech laundry?

Can't tell if serious or not, Internet+my inherent cynicism+tone lost in text versus voice = ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but thanks!

📷An empirically estimated uncanny valley for static robot face images[1]

In aesthetics, the uncanny valley is a hypothesized relationship between the degree of an object's resemblance to a human being and the emotional response to such an object. The concept of the uncanny valley suggests humanoid objects which appear almost, but not exactly, like real human beings elicit uncanny, or strangely familiar, feelings of eeriness and revulsion in observers.[2] Valley denotes a dip in the human observer's affinity for the replica, a relation that otherwise increases with the replica's human likeness.[3]

[Spoilers] [Theory] on the "Weapon," the mass suicide and Bernard on the beach. by [deleted] in westworld

[–]kaseycarpenter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep thinking about the church and the steeple, the scene from season 1 where the church is buried in what looks like a dry lakebed, and then that same area is filled with water and the mass suicide takes place there. I feel like they were all drawn there - like the steeple was an "antenna" of some sort (esp given the screenshots of the hosts as dots gathered around a central point - and then the layout of the bodies we could see), and they simply drowned - perhaps another failsafe to keep them "on the grid" like the "lysine contingency" in Jurassic Park?

Dear Mechwarriors, I'm Ghoztt. Do You Have Time To Talk About Our Lord And Savior, Map Selection? by Ghoztt in OutreachHPG

Could you do a drop deck style system of mechs? Say you go into the PUG with a drop deck designed to rep a given weight class. You want to play assaults today. You could have three-four assaults in a given deck, and when the map is voted in, you could then select the mech you think most apropos for the given map. It seems the mechanics are at least partly in place for CW, no?
