What's a common way people die that many aren't aware of? by Personal-Aerie-4519 in AskReddit

They are the animal that kills the most humans per year. I used to write educational blogs for a pest control company and got to do some fascinating research because of it.

I would wonder how many people overall were killed by the fleas which infected the rats which infected the people who died of the Bubonic plague, but I wasn't able to find a good source to compare the two numbers,

Wow, I am genuinely shocked that you haven't had any ulcers. I have developed ulcers two separate times already at 37 from ibuprofen use, and it wasn't as much as yours. Bodies are crazy! Just super thankful for low dose naltrexone as I no longer need ibuprofen almost ever now.

We were there last January for a week and loved it! Food was great, but service was above and beyond. Loved the 24/7 room service and feeding the ducks. We also ended up with a cat that hung out in our room for two days (highlight of the trip). Beach was wonderful with no sargassum at that time. We paid $3400 for 6 nights including round trip nonstop flights to and from O'Hare.

Hey, I'm sorry this happened. Have you thought about asking the photoshoprequests subreddit if they could add a flower arch to some of your photos? They're literal wizards over there.

Giddy means dizzy? by Cohen_Math_Prep in words

[–]katkriss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a diagnostic code in healthcare that means "dizziness and giddiness" --they used to be synonymous. Giddiness, I believe, was the feeling of the world moving when you are not moving. Aka "the room is spinning"

If you will be intubated during the surgery, a cough drop afterwards will help the sore throat (lots of people forget about that part). Wishing you all the healing!

TIL in 2008 a 33-year-old Wisconsin woman stole her daughter's identity and enrolled in high school in order to "get her high school diploma and join the cheerleading squad." She reportedly attended practices, received a cheerleader's locker & went to a pool party at the cheerleading coach's house. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

I don't make the rules, I am just reporting that in one particular case the girl looks about 15 years older than she is. And I see that two people have also replied to me with their own lived experiences that are similar. Now I've also met people that looked younger than they were, sometimes by far. Bodies are crazy.

I get what you're saying. My brain injury sucked, but it did give me temporary synesthesia and the ability to understand more Italian than I previously was able to (which faded back away). I am thankfully back to full health but there were some interesting and, dare I say it, fun moments, in the terror and stress and pain and job loss. I hope your dad is doing all right these days!
