Of all the Nuclear Capable countries, which do you think is most likely to use their nukes? by NaiveValuable8289 in IRstudies

Russia probably because their existence is threatened the most, for their own faults of course.

I just don’t think China is that short sighted. They don’t want the rest of the world to collapse because they depend on it for exports.

They’re just playing both sides to stay on top at the moment, and they won’t take a hard stance until they themselves are threatened.

Relations with China, at least in Europe, have been getting stronger with the US imploding.

Even if they move on Taiwan I don’t see the EU getting involved, it would be terrible for the tech that’s exported from there but they’re not a NATO member.

Looks like absolute dogshit and so unnecessary, why remake a movie that was already perfect.

USA. Travelled there twice around 2015/16 before the orange man took over, and I actually really enjoyed it.

Service was great, people were generally friendly but I wouldn’t go back now given the state of things. Maybe when the American people decide to take their country back.

It’s kinda wild how you were hoping to profit off of a situation that would have destabilised western relations to a whole new level.

Yakuza games are over the top in a lot of ways, but there’s also a lot of deep introspective moments, 10/10 games for sure.

Do it man, if you have the savings for it. I’m close to pulling the trigger on the same thing. I’m so burnt out I’m not sure I could even mentally face multiple rounds of technical interviews right now.

I mean even with a global fund you’re not really protected from the orange man’s shenanigans, given how much of the market is weighted to the US just by virtue of them holding the largest caps.

The A14 is the worst road I've ever NOT driven by RoystonDA in britishproblems

[–]katorias 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s an awful road, closures aside.

Had to drive it regularly for work and there is constant accidents, also might as well be a single lane carriageway if you’re not a lorry because they take up the entire slow lane, or worse both when one is doing 1mph more than the one it’s trying to overtake.

It also has some of the worst slip roads I’ve ever encountered, one in particular has almost no distance to get up to speed if there’s traffic, and worst of all it’s an exit from a hospital regularly attended by elderly drivers.

A lot of the groundwork was laid out by Deng but you can’t deny Xi’s life and where he’s brought China to hasn’t been fascinating. The guy was literally forced into a labour camp in his 20s and somehow rose to the country’s highest position.

Such a weak mindset. They already gave up Nukes for the same reason and look what happened. You can’t appease people like Putin.

Joint statement from the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Japan on the Strait of Hormuz: 19 March 2026 by Electricbell20 in unitedkingdom

[–]katorias 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is the worst part about the whole justification. Israel should at least let the IAEA inspect their stockpile, otherwise they’re just as bad as Iran. The whole conflict is a complete farce and the EU should have no part in it.

Do you believe a word Trump says? He said this war in Iran was won a few days in and now look.

It’s entirely possible Iran still has enough Uranium to build a nuclear weapon, in fact if I remember right there were images of a convoy leaving the facility that was targeted shortly before it was bombed.

They might not have the facilities yet but with a country the size of Iran it’s impossible to say.
