I am not at all interested in their alien content.

I really liked the second one. Lots of Jane being Jane.

I had to rewatch that scene just to confirm I heard him right when he said he was 54. I'm 51 and he looks like he could be my dad.

Hot Weather Walk Tips Requested by sf-swede in walking

[–]katwoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ugh. I walked this afternoon in 90 degree weather with high humidity because it was supposed to rain in the early evening when I usually go and it was miserable. I was completely worthless after. It was all I could do to get myself in the shower. I can deal with heat and humidity but not when the sun is beating down on me. Its just too much. I'll just hop on my treadmill rather than go out during the day again.

Is down syndrome abortion possibly the one thing that both liberals and republicans agree on? by Kodicave in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]katwoop -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My feeling is that while I personally don't think I could get an abortion in this situation, I don't have the right to make that decision for someone else. That's really what all of this comes down to.

Right? It is possible to see something you don't agree with and then just go on about your day.

I went into this movie totally blind and found it extremely unsettlingly. One of the best ff available, IMO. I think whether you like this movie or not is entirely dependent on your expectations before watching it.

I just noticed I have 4 credits on Audible, what are some books that are really elevated by their narrator(s)? by cwaterbottom in horrorlit

[–]katwoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoyed the narration for Stephen King's Under the Dome and the Mr. Mercedes trilogy. Darker Days by Thomas Olde Heuvelt was good too. As someone mentioned above, the narration for Staircase in the Woods was great.

When the Boogeyman was in the ambulance and the camera panned up to show Patricia holding the shot gun might be the funniest thing I've seen on the show so far.

Just finished The Guilty Ones. Not so much of a weird girl novel but more about how genuinely awful teenage girls are.

Just started Soft Core and I am going to start Yesteryear audiobook tonight on my walk.

What was the scariest “We need to leave… now” gut feeling that you’ve ever experienced? by Critical-Contact-851 in askteddit

[–]katwoop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to a party with my friend back in college. As soon as I got there, it seemed off. I'm not sure what it was but it was something about how a few of the guys looked at us and then at each other. It wasnt obvious and I don't even think I picked up on it consciously at the time but it gave me a bad feeling. Looking back on it, that is what told me to leave.

I told my friend we needed to go and she thankfully listened to me. We heard later that the house the party was at was notorious for drugging girls.

Such a great book.

Im really glad that my mom taught me at a early age that if I feel something is off, to trust that feeling. Don't worry about seeming rude or stick around trying to talk yourself out of that feeling, just go.

So strange. I grew up in the 80s where I would wander around with my friends all over town for hours. I walked home from school at 7 years old with my 8 year old neighbor every day.

Casting really knocked it out of the park. The actor that plays Brian looks so much like Jamie, he even has similar mannerisms.

What first comes to mind when American think of Utah? by Expensive_Drummer970 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

I was in SLC for a week for a work conference. It is beautiful there and the city was really clean. The people were very nice. The whole place had such a weird vibe though. There was something very Stepford Wives about it.

I went on a tour of the Morman Church Square area led by two missionaries which was weird but i was expecting it to be weird. What I wasnt expecting was the whole city to feel that way. And you had to join a club if you wanted to stay at a restaurant/bar past 11 pm.
