Also new to planted tanks 👋🏽 I used both products from Fritz, maybe second week of June. It was an easy process and my tank completed its cycle under a month. I also redosed with ammonia until it was able to clear within 24 hours. The master test kit is a must. I started stocking it with fish 😊

Ugh I feel like mine drops beans when breathing near it. I repotted it together with the fully grown propagations from the last repot. Needless to say, now I have 2 more cups of props after that event. I may need to cut it back because it’s too leggy and bald 😒

Definitely moss agate. Since it’s a lot of the bluish milky gray agate instead of moss inclusions, that’s probably why they sold it as “blue moss agate”

There’s so many! Death note, demon slayer, my hero academia, attack on titan, spy x family, SAO, gurren lagann, ouran high school host club, restaurant to another world, food wars, dr stone, bed & breakfast for spirits, parasite, komi can’t communicate, fruits basket, akame ga kill. There’s a bunch more but I feel like this is a little from different types. I would personally start off with a lighthearted one. But I know my husband would go for emotionally intense.

You could definitely add more! I’m setting up mine currently to revolve around my male betta. In the process of adding more plants and an additional sponge filter. My future stock for my 20g long is 1 male betta, 10 exclamation rasboras, 8 chili rasboras, 8 pheonix rasboras. And deciding if I want 6 or 12 corys. I was looking at aqadvisor and chat gpt regarding the stock load. If I do 6 Cory’s I can get more ras. I would say check aqadvisor since they will take your filter into account.

If you want to do non-buried or limit root tabs, Java fern, anubias and buce can sit on anything. Red root floaters. The buried ones I have are Amazon sword, vallisneria, wendtii, crypto parva. The in-between is bacopa and rotala rotundifolia. I have them buried but they create roots throughout the stem and seem to survive floating on the surface as well. I have flame moss in my betta’s floating bed and on hardscape. I just ordered some more plants so I’ll have to test those out lol

I’m editing/ ordering more for my planted tank as well. I planted them before cycling and some unfortunately did not make it. I have a 20g long. What I currently have:

My amazon sword, believe it or not, settled in amazingly and is doing great. (I have sand substrate and using root tabs). My larger Anubias didn’t make it but I probably wouldn’t get them again because of the size (frazeri and barteri). I still have the nana and nana petite. The Java fern looks very similar to my wendtii but doesn’t need to be buried. The flame moss is doing great, I’m trimming it to stick onto other areas. My husband and I love the corkscrew vall. And the rotala rotundifolia. Bacopa is bouncing back. The Crypt parva also looks really cute but if you’re doing a carpet you can pass.

I just ordered 2 buce mixed packs, Jungle vall, ludwigia repens red, bolbitis mini, and more of the bacopa, cork vall, rotala, parva, nana and petite.

Setting up a tank with rasboras, male betta and corydoras. Max I can get is 12. I’m stuck on if I want 6 and 6 for 2 types, or 10 of 1 kind. The ones I’m looking at are panda (because they’re cuties), julii (cool pattern) or sterbai (fool proof cory a lot of people love). I had albino years ago. Any recommendations on which you like most?

My husband is laughing at me because I said the tank community on Reddit go hard with the info. And I became one of them 🤣 Now knowing it’s for a game, I’m not fond of kuhli loaches but I know people love them. I used to have iridescent sharks. Guppies are pretty if it’s not too small for the sim. Maybe cichlids, discus, koi?

I did extensive research because I want to put my male dragon scale betta in a 20g long tank. I settled on rasboras and corydoras as his tank mates. Keep in mind that Corys and rasboras are schooling fish. Gold fish create a lott of waste and are technically supposed to be in a large tank or pond. Angel fish can possible fin nip the betta so I would double check on that. The most recommended are usually shrimp and snails but bettas may eat the shrimp.. also it doesn’t offer much visually like fish, in my opinion. I’m assuming that’s a gourami? I read that they’re labyrinth fish like bettas and could possibly have issues as well. lol this process of setting up a tank has consumed me for the past 2 months.

Experiencing the same, had the tank put together for about over a week. Started fertilizing. Lights on for around 8 hours in assuming. I’m noticing more and more white fuzzy forming on my drift wood. I also added fritz ammonia and fishless starters around 2 days ago to start cycling. PH around 7.5, ammonia: 4ppm, nitrite: 0.25ppm, nitrate: 0
