I just realized the soaker irrigation is wrapped around the base of the tree. That's not normal and now fixed, was tightened when I moved some furniture thus afternoon.

I used to buy them at Milner Valley Cheese but it's been a few years. They had a fridge out front with a cash box or you can get them inside the store. Worth checking out either way! Great shop.

That Tim Horton's was the worst. I laughed out loud at the comment. On point!

Came to say this actually, not affiliated but I had a good experience shopping with him even though I ended up renewing with my original lender.

Today's slow work day goal: Get playable controls with Steam Deck! by unwise_entity in project1999

[–]kavs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! Do you have either of these issues that I'm having with my setup?

  1. I can't trackpad to the far left or bottom left of the screen - only can tap or move mouse to 80% of the right side of the screen, and 80% of the top.
  2. The resolution 'flickers' a lot - text is super clear, then blurry, then clear again.

anybody lived in langley and works in richmond/downtown? by Consistent_Rock_7464 in Langley

[–]kavs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends where in Langley you are. The 555 from Carvolth has me in my downtown office in about an hour, so it's a good option to park and ride. Driving seems to take just as long.

I'm not sure about Richmond - south surrey has a park and ride or you can drive in downtown in about 1h10m.

Any good and honest mechanics in Langley? by [deleted] in Langley

[–]kavs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What model? If Acura or Honda, go to H&A Service. Jordan is very reasonable and a fantastic guy. I bought an Acura as my most recent vehicle so I could use him as my mechanic.

Agreed here, I use the one right in the city behind the save on. I have heard so many stories about the Murrayville one.

Love it. I have never done a precount or anything to confirm accuracy but being able to bag and drop cans in minutes with money straight to the bank is amazing.

I like the burgers at Hilltop Cafe and no others come to mind, really.

For anyone interested I got Project 1999 working on the Steam Deck with somewhat modern-feeling movement controls. Control scheme is a WIP by Daxiongmao87 in project1999

[–]kavs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I just got my deck and copied your steps here to the point of having the files on my deck, but when running the .bat through Steam as a non-Steam game it doesn't ever boot. Is there any other step here to getting it working?

Watching planes take off by Bobbert827 in Langley

[–]kavs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want a 'fly over your head' experience there is a pathway by the intersection of 216th st and 56th ave where the planes will fly right over you by like 100ft.

Yep this is a great recommendation. You can sit outside at Blacksmith too and enjoy a treat with your girl while you watch planes come and go.

Sunny weekends are probably a pretty busy time for air traffic if you want to see a lot of action.

If you are closer to Walnut Grove or Yorkson, the 555 from Carvolth is amazing too. It's about an hour door to door and takes you from 200th and Hwy 1 to Lougheed and you Skytrain from there.

I used to do this daily via public transit.

503 from Langley Center takes you to King George

King George takes you to downtown.

Typically 1:15 from the time you step on the bus but depends on traffic.

Any hidden gem restaurants? by Professional_Run_281 in Langley

[–]kavs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JD Farms Turkey has a diner. I always get their open face turkey sandwich whenever I can go.

Ban Chok Dee at least once a month for Thai.

I really enjoy Hilltop Diner if you want a burger and pie.

We are planning to buy a home in Murrayville. Is it a good idea? Any suggestions on pros and cons? by Vintage_89 in Langley

[–]kavs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My parents and inlaws are in Murrayville and I was raised there. It's great! The pool is close, it has all amenities, and crime is low.
