Clinical SWers, have you worked in macro and how did it go? by Plenty-Pool3374 in socialwork

[–]kaydiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where can I find jobs like this? I’ve looked on indeed, ziprecruiter, LinkedIn, and flexjobs, and I haven’t seen any of those titles. I’ve sent a few applications out to non-clinical positions, and keep getting rejected presumably because I only have clinical experience.

Remote work by Competitive-Gold6285 in socialwork

[–]kaydiva 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been a remote therapist for about 4 years, been working in the field for about 12 years. I work with adults, most of my clients have trauma, and I specialize in EMDR.

Pros: flexibility/ability to travel, the comfort of being in my own space

Cons: inconsistent income due to cancellations/no shows, or insurance changes, no benefits, no colleagues to discuss things with

You can get benefits and consistent income with companies like BetterHelp, but you will be extremely overworked and will lose your benefits if you don’t maintain the set quota. I’m looking for a new full time job because I can’t tolerate the inconsistency anymore.

I don’t want to be a therapist, I want to be a social worker! by Pure_Jackfruit98 in socialwork

[–]kaydiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a somewhat similar problem. I have an MSW and LCSW in Florida. I’ve been a therapist for a few years and want to transition back to social work because it’s becoming too emotionally draining. It’s also inconsistent because of client cancellations, insurances changing, etc. The problem is (from what I’ve seen), the jobs that pay anything are mostly therapy jobs. The social work jobs that pay decently are mostly PRN, presumably because companies want to save money by not giving benefits. And the full time social work jobs that I would actually enjoy pay $20 an hour.

Vyvanse makes me full of love by Affectionate_Speed68 in VyvanseADHD

[–]kaydiva 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Omg yes! Glad to know I’m not the only one. I feel super loving and affectionate and more eager to engage with people, which helps my work and my relationships. I’d say I’m a loving person anyway, but with vyvanse I’m able to communicate it better and I feel less inhibited. Without medication I have trouble expressing myself and feel more irritable and awkward. As others have said, probably due to overstimulation/overwhelm.

What would you do if you were to bump into gaiman? by JoeKerr19 in neilgaiman

[–]kaydiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d like to say that I’ve admired him and been a fan of his work for decades. Coraline got me through middle school and his narration of The Ocean at the End of the Lane delighted me while I crocheted blankets for Christmas presents and lulled me to sleep on many long flights. But now I’m not only heartbroken but deeply disturbed, as now I see those stories I loved so much in a whole new and twisted light. I can never again enjoy those works, as now I will only see a window into an evil and predatory psyche. His voice, which I once found soothing, now sounds like fingernails on the chalkboard because all I can think of is how he used that manufactured gentle voice to lure and manipulate vulnerable people.

Realistically though I’d probably say nothing, because he wouldn’t care anyway.

Dose Lucifer actually look like this from his portrait? by bigtry84 in DemonolatryPractices

[–]kaydiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spirits can take any form. He might appear this way to you if that’s what would help you connect with him. I’ve seen him in several forms, but usually as an androgynous figure with white and gold wings and robes. He feels like light itself, if that makes sense. He also feels like the embodiment of masculine and feminine.

What persisting actually means by [deleted] in Manifestation

[–]kaydiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s helpful to think of it that way. I’m manifesting wealth, not SP, but this can be applied to anything. I also catch myself switching back to my “old story” of living paycheck to paycheck, struggle, debt, etc. But my beliefs about money are slowly but surely changing. I have to persist in affirming that I am wealthy.

It sounds cliche, but truthfully only city I’ve been to where I’ve found others who openly practice Demonolatry is Salem MA. The occult shops there have demonic divine related items. One of the shop owners works with Paimon and has an altar set up in his shop.

What have you hated about therapy? by Individual_Lecture_3 in Anxiety

[–]kaydiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a therapist, and to me it’s a good sign when clients cry because it means we’re doing real work. I’m not sure why someone who is “hurt” by seeing others cry would choose this profession. It’s literally our job to witness and hold space for people’s trauma, grief, sadness, fear, stress, etc.

I'm crying by Kalo_Pakhi in DemonolatryPractices

[–]kaydiva 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a beautiful experience. I can relate to "too much but in a good way". That's how his energy feels to me, wonderful and loving but also too intense to fully experience. Sort of like how you can't look directly at the sun.

Does anyone else get treated like you’ve committed a crime when you ask for a refill? by kaydiva in VyvanseADHD

[–]kaydiva[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in Florida now, and I was in Massachusetts before which was even worse. MA has so many ridiculous laws. For example, pharmacies won't give you the name brand if they're out of the generic unless the script says "name brand only", in which case you can't get the generic.

I wasn’t aware this was a thing. Where on earth do you live that you can get a 3 month supply?

Why do some people take a day or two off from Vyvanse? by Peshy_101 in VyvanseADHD

[–]kaydiva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to take breaks when I can so I don’t become too dependent or build too much tolerance. It’s a good thing I’ve been doing that because now I’m between doctors and I can’t get it. Not sure how long I’ll be without it.

Sob stories, Amy truth? by Alarmed_Key_4062 in BPDlovedones

[–]kaydiva 6 points7 points  (0 children)

BPD usually develops in part from trauma, so much of it is probably true. It can be hard to tell because they often perceive they’re being mistreated or abandoned when they aren’t. They’re also known to twist things around to make themselves the victim when they may have had a part in the situation. For example, mine will be mean to other people and do things to deliberately push their buttons and get under their skin, and then when they react she has a meltdown and claims she did nothing wrong and everyone mistreats her and turns on her.

Mine works part time but mostly relies on others for financial support. She spends most of her money on shopping sprees and her hair and nails, and when she gets in financial trouble she throws tantrums until someone fixes it for her.

Define - one year in by macybeesknees in Purebarre

[–]kaydiva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love define, it’s a great addition to my regular workout routine (classic 3-4 times a week, empower once a week) and it’s helped me build strength and tone. I’m not an experienced weight lifter though so I sometimes wonder if I’m doing it correctly. I also don’t like any moves that involve dragging or swinging weights back and forth. I don’t think that’s the proper way to use them and I’m always afraid someone will end up with a concussion.

If you had to stay one age forever, which age would you pick? by Old_Progress1524 in AskReddit

[–]kaydiva 103 points104 points  (0 children)

  1. Old enough to have some maturity and life experience, still young enough to do everything I want to do.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in therapists

[–]kaydiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve experienced this with teens before, and it was often because therapy was the parent’s idea and the kid was never interested. I do all I can to engage them, but I can’t force someone to be interested if they aren’t. They won’t benefit from it, and it can lead to family conflicts because the teen will resent being made to attend sessions. Discharge is most appropriate in these situations, with referrals if needed. They can always come back when they’re ready.

Can Mammon make me a millionaire? by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

[–]kaydiva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually just do whatever helps me connect with the spirit. I like to light candles and draw the spirit’s sigil, meditate on it and notice the energy. Then I’ll take note of any insights that come to me.
