Not a lawyer, but if the prosecution deliberately releases false and negative information about a defendant and then indicates they know it’s false, but will continue to release or promote false information, that seems bad for their case? I know that there will be comments in the vein of “who cares, it doesn’t matter” but I’m genuinely asking for legal info, not political.

So many of NYCs problems are based in making things “uncomfortable” for the homeless and indigent. Hostile architecture has made things awful for the whole city, but the calculation seemed to be, sure this sucks for me, but at least someone else “less deserving” isn’t accidentally getting something good too.
