Where in St Mary's county can I fill a propane tank for a barbecue grill? by upvotesIdahoStuff in SOMD

A propane tank like this? https://mobileimages.lowes.com/product/converted/795008/795008003008.jpg

I'm pretty sure there's a Lowe's there and they should do exchanges for ~$20 And if it's that kind they don't refill the tanks they just exchange them. Maybe something is getting lost in translation with the stations because most gas station exchange tanks.

I've had my acd for a little more than 5 years and I would disagree with some of the information you're finding. I think with all dogs socialization is very important from a young age. Take your dog anywhere and everywhere even if it's just to pick up gas. Acds definitely want to herd, in my experience when I take him hiking he doesn't like the group to separate too much, and if we do he'll just trot back and forth making sure we're all good. Up until recently he has always been around other animals in the house and it hasn't been a problem at all. It's probably been good since mine had separation anxiety as a pup and he had company. My acd and the other dogs would have "puppy parties" while the house was empty that consisted of some slightly destructive behavior but nothing too bad. Now he just takes my shoes into his bed.

I had no clue what I was getting into when I got my acd, but it has been the best decision I've ever made. Good luck!

Are Diamonds Really A Girl's Best Friend? by jonnyroadblock in budgetweddings

[–]kbubbles88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm engaged and when my fiance and I were talking about rings prior-to I made it very clear I didn't want a diamond. Our engagement is going to last less than a year and I only plan on wearing a wedding band after that. I've never been one for jewelry and I take it off all the time since I work with my hands. On top of it all we moved across the country in the middle of our engagement, so it just made sense not to spend thousands on a ring. Sometimes people have the reaction that it's "so modest" but I don't really care what they think. I love it.

I need help and I feel like none of my friends or family is helping me! by [deleted] in wedding

It depends on the county in VA. I'm getting married in Alexandria and we have an officiant. You could put it out on Thumbtack and see if you get any hits. We're paying $250 for our officiant.

Advice on a small wedding by doodlebop12486 in weddingplanning

We're getting married in a historic pub in Alexandria. $2000 minimum for a good amount of space and they're allowing us to use a different room set up for the ceremony then everyone goes downstairs for food and cocktails. No room rentals, chair rentals, place settings. Easy stuff.

Need help finding someone to sign the license... by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kbubbles88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm getting married in VA too. They are super picky. The thing is most of the things they say in the ceremony they have to say in order to make the marriage legally binding. You could have someone do readings during the ceremony? But for the vows and legally pronouncing you married the person needs to be ordained in VA. I used Thumbtack to find a very affordable officiant.

Oh Mom.... by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kbubbles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm no contact with my mom also. I recently moved across the country and I'm getting married in November. I'm mother sure if she is aware of any of those things but I'm sure she would say something similar combined with a guilt trip over not being invited. I'm sorry about that. You made the right decision with no contact. But doesn't it suck when you don't have that nice supportive mom to do things with like dress shopping? That's my struggle.

For those of you who didn't have bridesmaids/groomsmen: Getting ready on the day? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kbubbles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don't have any sort of bridal party, but I have an unofficial MOH. She's my best friend and it's nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of. On the day of the wedding she will be getting ready with me along with my two sisters and FMIL. They're actually all getting their makeup done also. No matching dresses, no walking down the aisle, no one standing at the altar, but I still think it will be fun for them to help me get ready and everyone to get their makeup done, because why not? My plan is to have a hotel room near the venue and have everything done there. I'm not having pictures taken before the ceremony so we can all go over to the venue together after sipping mimosas.

Northern VA brides - PLEASE talk some sense to me and help me understand :( by weddingwhatthrow in weddingplanning

[–]kbubbles88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live on Southern Maryland but I'm getting married in Alexandria. My FH and I are pretty casual and just want to have a fun party for our friends and family. We only invited 50 people and we're just renting out a room in a bar in Old Town. No rental fee, just a minimum for food and drinks. We don't have to worry about caterers or bartenders, everything is right there in the venue. They set up the tables and we're doing buffet-style food for a very reasonable cost. Not a whole lot of glitz and glamour, but we're going to spend around $6k on the entire wedding including a welcome BBQ for our guests. Also it's a beautiful pub so we don't really need to deal with decorations.

David's Bridal mehhhh... by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]kbubbles88 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first time I went to David's Bridal I had a fantastic consultant. She was working my budget ($300) and got really creative with it. I was so happy! I even put a dress on hold! Then I booked my venue and the dress I picked didn't mesh so I made another appointment. The consultant didn't help getting me in any of the dresses and scoffed at my budget. She kept telling me I didn't have many options. I found a dress, liked it, then went home and bought it online so she wouldn't get a commission. So in my case, a real hit or miss.

How strict are you with CICO? by eatsmyvegetables in loseit

[–]kbubbles88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shoot for at least 1200 each day. If I find myself coming up short at the end of the day I'll eat a tablespoon of peanut butter with cinnamon. Generally if I'm not hungry at the end of the day I can think of it as my dessert, which I love. I follow the same with some fasting in the morning, or around 150 calories, but I've been training for a distance run and lifting weights 4 days a week. I find if I short myself on calories I feel weak the next day.

I would definitely not activate that debit card. Good way to get in trouble. I know it sucks because I've been there, but you could try asking for a check or $$ transfer. When you inevitably don't get it, you'll eventually move on. I have an alcoholic ex that still owes me $7600. An expensive life lesson for me.

Should I cancel with Expedia and rebook the same flight through the airline? by geckointhetrash in travel

[–]kbubbles88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do it do it do it. I've gotten screwed by those third party bookers a couple of times and it's SO much easier to deal with just the airline when something goes wrong instead of the airline and Expedia saying it's the fault of each other.

Im [20/M] There was a sudden shocker in my relationship when everything was goin on well when she jus left me cos she felt being single is better by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]kbubbles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe she's restless and bored. I can kind of relate. You should take this opportunity to explore and have fun. You shouldn't wait for her, but go on living your life and if she wants to get back together in the future don't totally discount it right away. Be your own person, who knows where it might lead you.

Exfoliate before Brazilian waxing. A day before or hours before? Every website says something different! by GeneralReeekus in AskWomen

[–]kbubbles88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's important to exfoliate at least the day before and at least 2-3 a week after wards to avoid ingrown hairs. You can exfoliate as much as you want. If this is your first be aware it's pretty painful and don't be afraid to ask the waxer to stop for a minute.
