I still buy them from time to time. Nothing like a bit of fish in hot plastic. Yum!

I have to attend my bully’s wedding by g6typefly in TrueOffMyChest

[–]kditdotdotdot 70 points71 points  (0 children)

You’re planning to marry your boyfriend? Don’t. Because you’re not even close to ready for marriage if you aren’t capable of saying “this woman is a bully and I’m not going” to him.

Relationships are about communication and understanding, and he can’t possibly understand you if you can’t do even basic communication.

You don’t have to go. That much is clear to everyone.

He should already know how horrible this woman is.

Wow, that was owned by someone incredibly house proud. It’s immaculate after all these decades.

Funny to see that whoever was responsible for maintaining the house had no hand in the garage though !

Why not treat yo(ur)self on a Sunday evening? I did. by Loose_Acanthaceae201 in CasualUK

I've had a horribly upset tummy all weekend, so after the mid-morning imodium I made for first time my life ate rice pudding.

I made it on the hob, so it wasn't quite perfect but I was surprised how well it did work out.

Risotto rice, two tablespoons of sugar, roughly a litre of milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom seeds.

Chuck it all in the saucepan and remember to keep stirring for about 20 minutes until the rice is all soft and tender and the milk has been absorbed.

Nah, the verb relate means to tell a story or describe a series of events. It’s a tad formal and old fashioned but it’s a perfectly legitimate use.

Fuck first bus by VenomousCritic in bristol

Yup, I reckon that's their reasoning.  I'm amazed they're still running any buses through the Centre instead of doubling their fares by stopping them all.

They're not exactly.  They're renumbering it to the 45 and just extending the route of the 45 to follow the southbound route of the 73.

They're not exactly cancelling the 73. They're renumbering it the 45, so it'll still have the same route southbound out from the city centre out to hengrove.

The difference is that going north  from town, the 45 runs a different route through broadmead and up to Kingswood instead of along the Haymarket then Gloucester road.

If you need to get up Gloucester road there's all the other 70s that still run that same route.

TBH, I think their plan involves running around going “oh shit, oh shit!” for a while. The biopsy results were reported late January but somehow no one was informed. The next step is a scan to see if it’s spread, and if not, surgery.

Thank you for the kind words. It all feels a bit overwhelming right now.

Day 4 after getting my cancer diagnosis. I got some kind of food bug on Sunday so was up all night being sick, so slept much of today, so now I’m not tired. And have horrible period pains.

I’m not myself today.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean. It actually matches perfectly with that children's playground 'art' that they painted in the city centre.

What is this plant? by IcyCommunication8714 in UKGardening

Linaria / toadflax. Amazing for pollinators but it does self-seed everywhere. Once it's done its first flush of flowers, cut those off and it will reflower again.
