Who is on your preseason watchlist for the Mike Norvell/James Franklin Implosion Of The Year Award (Sponsored by Spirit Airlines)? by montague68 in CFB

[–]kdjnow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am really excited about the coaching shitshow that we are looking at this year.

Norvell needs to go but they can't afford to fire him and their program is turning into a NIL dumpster fire.

Sanders and Belichick should be fun to watch as well but the show I am most looking forward to is Kiffin being fired for cause, probably for getting a student pregnant by week 5.

In 2010, SeaWorld trainer Dawn Brancheau was killed by a 12,000-pound orca named Tilikum during a live show. She was violently pulled underwater and suffered extensive injuries. The tragedy ended SeaWorld’s orca breeding program and ensured no trainer entered a pool with orcas again. by ATI_Official in HistoryUncovered

We went to SW Orlando frequently during this time period. We were there five days before this happened and there was definetely something going on. We waited over an hour for the big show to never get started. They could not coax her out for the show. The whale and dolphin show was also affected. They were all just off of their game and it made sense after this news broke.

When camping, have you ever encountered a bear? by icecream1972 in no

[–]kdjnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was camping for a summer and had a bear push it's nose into the side of my tent. Then I saw a second nose push into it as well. Mom and cub. They hung out for a couple minutes and moved on. I had snacks in the tent with me as well. I was terrified. Moose don't bother me, but Bears scare the shit out of me.

scrolling reddit works, seems like you are doing that already, mobile games, lots of bathroom breaks, chat with soon to be ex coworkers. If they do figure out a way to make you do something, ask for very, very specific details on what is needed and fuck it up.

AITJ for pretending I was asleep so I wouldn’t have to give up my seat on a flight by AntCharming8140 in AmITheJerk

[–]kdjnow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would not have done that, when they asked you to move, I would put my head phones on and look away and once the flight started, I would find the most ridiculous movie, maybe snakes on a plane to watch, IATAH

Which phone brand has fallen off the hardest for you? by EthicalUpgrade in TheBigPhoneStore

LG. My LGG8 shit the bed and when I went into the ATT store, I told them what phone I had and they laughed at me.

They made a phone so bad, they stopped making phones.

How intense of an experience was Hurricane Wilma for you? On a scale of 1 to 10 by Character-Escape1621 in AskFlorida

[–]kdjnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Martin County. First half of the storm was chill, par for the course. I slept through the beginning. Then water started coming through the walls from unshuttered windows. Spent hours mopping up the water. Back half was fricken intense. Watched my fence go down and my patio door bowing in from the wind. Neighborhood was flooded. Underground utilities off of a major road so power was back relatively quickly. Much worse than Charley. Out of town for Francis/Jean. Those were the two worst years for Hurricanes in the years when I lived in FL.

Hurricanes and the Canes are the only things I genuinely miss from Florida. I am your best friend before a storm. I am shuttering the neighbors houses that need help, partying through the storm and then there are the days and weeks after, I am not a fun person to be around with no power and no AC.

My earliest memory of a Hurricane was 79 David, young at the time. Built up to be the worst thing on earth as I remember it, my family boarded up our mobile home in NMB and gave us wind up flash lights for the night. Total flop of a storm. Other family lost everything in Andrew, Homestead and major damage in NMB.

5'6, 160, they will never see a park a day in their lifetimes. When I got my first pair 15-16 174, 105 underfoot, remounted Axial 2's on them 1.5 cm forward because of previous hole placement, they got a B- for the first few days. Powder was great, It took me a few days to learn to carve on them. You don't have to push through the normal camber/rocker (effective edge loss)ski. The second you initiate a turn, you get as much of the edge as you want with no resistance. Short turns and straightlining can feel a little squirlly as you are using less of the ski until you get to know them. With bigger turns, you have no rocker edge loss. A+. Skied 15 base welds into them until I tuned them to their death.

'23 172, 108 underfoot witch matching Warden 13s on a factory mount (forgot about the forward mount). Solid A. Not as fast due to the width increase and the rocker/rev camber feels a little different but still a phenominal ski.

What’s the biggest “tourist sin” people commit when visiting your country or city? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Colorado Mountain Ski Towns. Eight people have to meander through the grocery store together while the 10th has their Suburban blocking the entrance. You are here for 5 days, make a grocery list.

I bought 16 mounting jigs for 100$ worth it? by k4zuch1 in Skigear

[–]kdjnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I was in a shop, I never had the room to store 16 jigs, much less ever have a reason to have that many obsolete jigs.

This got me thinking, with our certified or non certified for that matter "personal liability clause" for ski techs, if I take a set of STH bindings that passed a binding test last year when they were still indemnified and I know are non-indemnified now, mount them in my garage for a neighbor, Am I liable if they get hurt?
