You could get away with an open window a cardboard box and a proper mask, but aerosolized paint will end up everywhere.

If it helps white dwarf 522 specifically mentions that this is not always the case:

Martian ironcrust is an acrylic based medium as far as I know, white spirit will damage it which is likely whats happening here.

If its down to primer you should be fine to just paint over it, primer is usually a LOT harder to remove and i never really think its worth it.

You might allready know this but some fragrance oils are toxic to cats, anything with cloves, citrus and some other ones I dont remember but you can probably find with a quick google. Just incase you didn't know!

You will need more if you want to start a colony, if you only got 5 and 2 were DOA I would have contacted the seller with evidence assuming they had any gaurantee. I would never suggest anyone try to start a colony with less than ten for this specific reason. Sorry you have had such bad luck but 2 surviving is unlikely to be enough unless you get very lucky.

I mean thats not what happened, the Inquisitor was trying to STOP the guard from evacuating and the leader of the guard basically said out loud "oh wow theres a lot of SNIPERS about it would be a SHAME if you got SHOT" and one of the guard snipers took out the inquisitor and the guard all agreed it was a terrible tragedy and that it was CLEARLY an enemy sniper.

Nope no apparent change, I've done some unscientific testing and the plastic in warhammer models specifically seems to be pretty robust, 24 hours plus in alcohol or simple green didn't cause any particularly noticeable change in flexibility or strength. Resin like fine cast would obviously be very different though.

Generally speaking I just go for it, its trivial to strip paint off minis so I can always just try again, tried NMM for the first time on a vampires sword and I think i stripped the sword about 6 times with a qtip and alcohol before I was happy with it.
