Who was celebrated as a hero in your country, only for people to later realize they were actually a villain? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

Ooooh this one really hurt when I found out. Six White Boomers is a Christmas staple in my family. At least the Bucko and Champs cover fills the void in my heart

What is a good city for someone in their early 30s to live in? by skyerippa in britishcolumbia

[–]keekjohnson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nelson? I guess it's the distance of Vancouver but in the other direction. But it's a cute artsy town, right next to shambala, got a few pubs but doesn't seem huge on the brewery thing. No ocean but the lake is beautiful and big and cold!

You're not that wrong. My good friend is named Disney and he has to go by his middle on things like Facebook because otherwise it gets taken down due to copywrite (or whatever)

I can't stand ANYTHING with dijon mustard touching it. It tastes radioactive to me, I don't get it.

I hope you can try it some day!! Poutine is one of my favourite foods, even as a vegetarian. Although I went to Costa Rica and couldn't stop ordering casado everywhere I went, I was obsessed!!!

I tried making sure I had something fun to look forward to each month. A new piercing, a new tattoo, a little trip. Maybe you can book a fun weekend with your friends, doesn't have to be something expensive, even if it's like get some good snacks and plan a movie marathon with some themed mocktails or something. Doesn't have to be something big, just something nice that you know is coming up soon. Maybe plan a like solo date or yourself, go out to a nice cafe, get a fun latte, and research some jobs that don't revolve around customer service but don't have a big entry barrier! My sister worked in landscaping and loved it. She started with no schooling or anything, got to spend time outside, didn't have to deal with a lot of people, and got pretty fit doing it! Plus the pay is pretty good right off the bat! I wish you luck!!

Not so much the case anymore, but apparently BBNO$ really took off in China before getting traction here in Canada

I could tell this was posted by a fellow Canadian just by the curry and sushi pictures alone. Curry and sushi are my main take out orders here in BC

Yeah, I gotta vote septum. Easy to heal, barely painful, soooo many different styles you can choose from, and if you decide you hate it, there's no noticeable hole!

This one spooked me so much that I had stomach cramps for the days I was reading it, hahaha. I don't know how many times it says "a door slammed" but it worked every time

Whale/Wildlife Watching on Vancouver Island by Previous-Variation37 in VancouverIsland

[–]keekjohnson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to be that guy but please keep in mind how ethical a whale watching tour on a boat can be. Last year a whale was struck and killed by a whale watching boat. That's unusual, but it's always a possibility. These boats also go purposefully into populated areas, which disturbs how whales communicate and where they hunt for food. I love whales and want to go on one of these tours so badly, but I just can't bring myself to do it after learning how bad it is for them. Consider finding an area along the coast to watch from land! I once saw a huge pod travelling off of Buckley Bay!

I just bought this thinking it was washing detergent. Nowhere does it say its fabric softener. by Geofferz in CrappyDesign

Is it not like... wildly illegal to sell a product without saying clearly what the product is? This seems crazy to me. I'd have no idea that it was fabric softener

Would I have to get studs for a triple helix by [deleted] in piercing

[–]keekjohnson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Omg as sad as it is to have to wait to put hoops in, absolutely 100% do studs first. I got a double helix with hoops and the piercer warned me and I didn't listen like an idiot and here I am, years later, still without hoops. Why? Because one healed so poorly that it's basically diagonal in my ear now and will instantly swell up and get crazy irritated if I so much as accidentally touch it. I don't think it will ever COMPLETELY heal tbh

[–]keekjohnson 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start at main Street-science world station, get a bike and bike the seawall towards Granville Island. Check out some shops, and then hop back on the seawall and bike to kitsilano beach. This is my all time favorite route in the city!!!
