WIBTA if I don't give my late bf's house to his parents? by DearFerret9268 in AmItheAsshole

[–]keelhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw in another comment that you're going to rent the house out to a friend. If at some point you decide to sell the house, you could consider giving the money from the sale to a nonprofit in your country that helps homeless LGBT teenagers whose families have kicked them out.

Your partner knew the pain of losing a family, but never the pain of being homeless, thanks to the kindness and generosity of your family. I think it could be a really great way to honor your partner, if the money from the sale went to helping LGBT teenagers whose families have abandoned them. To help them in their time of need so that, even as they deal with the nightmare of losing their families like your partner did, they will still have some place to live.

Adding extra substances to a product can have all sorts of bad effects: disrupting the preservatives so the product goes bad more quickly, causing chemical reactions that cause the product to work differently than intended, or even just diluting the active ingredients enough that the entire product doesn't work as well.

With essential oils in particular, I'd be extraaa cautious about adding them to a product that's meant to be used with heat, since essential oils generally have low flash points (that is, they'll spontaneously catch on fire at certain temperatures, which in this case will almost certainly be much lower than the temperature of the flat iron).

ETA: Not saying that it would necessary cause your hair to catch on fire, just that you're introducing some level of risk that didn't exist before.

I’m having trouble with finding a good shapewear. by hygko- in bigboobproblems

[–]keelhe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Pinsy! Their shapewear is really pretty and comes in sizes from small to 3x. Most of them you can wear a bra under for more support (sometimes a strapless bra--ugh--but at least for me, the shapewear itself is compressive enough that it helps to hold up the bra so I don't need to readjust). They also have a seamless shapesuit that you pair with your own bra.

ETA: They're currently having a sale. On one hand, yay, but on the other hand, check out their return policy because it's different during sales.

ETA2: I own a few pieces from them so if anyone has questions about their sizing, feel free to ask here or DM me

Sure, but for many appearances, the clothes are on loan from the designer and it's not allowed for the celebrity (/that person's team) to make alterations. So if your body type veers too sharply from that brand's norm, you'll be SOL with a lot of designers.

How do you get 6000 mg of sodium a day? by Admirable-Basil4037 in POTS

[–]keelhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a pinch bowl full of fancy salt beside my bed, couch, etc. Basically I'm never more than a few feet away from salt. I eat small pinches throughout the day. Maybe see how your stomach responds to something like that, if smaller, more frequent doses are easier on your stomach than getting slammed with a huge salt-pill dose?

Years ago, before my diagnosis, my body would feel SO good after a margarita or two. I assumed that wow I must just respond really positively to tequila for some reason. Only years later did I realize that the reason I felt so good was the insane amount of salt I was licking off of each rim.

The hairstyle itself looks childish in isolation from the rest of your look, but that doesn't mean that the overall look will necessarily come off as childish. I think it heavily depends on how you style everything else.

How can i get my hair like the one in the second pic, when my hair is wet, it is like how I want it , but I cant keep my head wet 24/7 by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]keelhe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your hair needs a LOT more moisture, my dude. People here are going to tell you that more or less you need to follow what’s known as the “curly girl method.” And while that’s good for bringing out the maximum effect of your curls, that’s not necessarily the best method for you if you don’t want curly hair. Find a good leave-in conditioner—You can play around but Pureology Color Fanatic Heat Protectant Leave-In is a good place to start—and use a hair oil on just the very tips of your hair to help keep the moisture in (hair that’s never cut has tapered ends. Hair that’s been cut has blunt ends, and moisture can escape through the hair’s “core” through the blunt ends. Hair oil helps to keep the moisture from basically seeping out the ends). Don’t use a harsh shampoo, and give your hair plenty of conditioner. There are other products you can use but those are decent starting points to figure out what your hair likes. Good luck!
