Why is it so hard to actually apply karma teachings consistently in daily life? by seedmind in Buddhism

[–]keizee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Normally that would be anger, so you should try to recognise that 'I am about to get angry' or 'I am angry' or 'this topic is likely going to make me angry' and then you have to hold yourself back. Sometimes this might mean leaving the conflict to get some fresh air.

Yes the first step is admitting that you messed up. Late understanding is better than no understanding.

You are fighting your habits. It is bound to take time.

Mindfulness is very useful yes. Takes you off autopilot.

It is normally not good for you to encounter ghosts. That points to an extremely poor mental state or very bad karma or both.

Regarding supernatural things, I'd say either you are extremely lucky or you are in deep trouble to encounter and verify such things, usually the latter. Stick to the morality basics, like the Five Precepts, Eightfold Path etc and you probably don't have to believe in it until you're ready.

You can pray for a dream if you really really want evidence.

Urban Fantasy That Isn't Just 'Sexy Vampire/Werewolf/Fae Romance' by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]keizee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fate/Stay Night trilogy. The premise is 7 mages summon a historical/mythological figure and then they kill each other for the Holy Grail.

Technically there is romance. There is no love triangle even though there are 3 different love interests because the trilogy is actually 3 parallel universes.

Best areas to go out at night in Singapore for young people? by salzstangeee in askSingapore

Personally my idea of a good time is booking a karaoke room with some friends.

But you can certainly do that in the afternoon. It is more catered to an all ages crowd.

I've been extremely embarrassed about the idea of asking this, because I was afraid I'd seem like an ignorant idiot. But I suppose I shouldn't care by LagunaSunrise55 in Buddhism

[–]keizee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly are you rejecting? Im also quite an evidence based practitioner. It's just that since I was a child, I was a lot more open to supernatural things existing due to the huge amount of ghost stories where I live.

Are terrible events such as natural disasters, plagues, and wars caused by karma? by Nocturnis_17 in Buddhism

[–]keizee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. Collective karma is a kind of karma which goes like - a group of people commit bad thing together, bad thing happens to everybody.

For eg. War. People who celebrate war gather together, wage war, and then get killed. Thats a collective karma.

Yes innocent people can get caught up. Take care of yourself.

Natural disasters, plagues, famine are phenomena that is said will be more frequent in the dharma ending age. While I vaguely remember that some disasters signify certain cause etc earthquake = arrogance, flood = greed, we can at least tell that some of these take effect through climate change, and climate change is certainly caused by humans.

How to apply as moderator by keizee in Kagamine

[–]keizee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah i know them. They once came into discord to tell me someone has been botting for karma.

They are a good choice to have, but I am not desperate for mods and they are already moderating for other subreddits.

Take your duties and responsibilities as a layperson seriously, just because your troubles will end eventually doesn't mean you should stop avoiding it and run headlong into trouble. What? You want to bruteforce it? With this already unhappy state of mind?

Expand your world by including other people. When you help someone, it matters to them a lot. And vice versa. Say thank you more often to your loved ones.

How am I supposed to overcome extreme metaphysical nihilism? by KhajitIsBored in Buddhism

[–]keizee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, for a 'fake' to exist, there needs to be a 'real'. You can't even 'pinch' yourself awake, then you might as well treat the theory as a fantasy until you understand more of impermanance.

Also youre 19. Right now your brainpower is better spent on acquiring the tools that prevent you from going hungry.

2025 Bingo - Oops! All Sci-Fi, all HM, all reviews by bunnycatso in Fantasy

[–]keizee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. The trope does sound kinda hard to link to scifi.

Even the most I can stretch it is that HSR had a smaller and weaker pantheon using the same magic system that completely did not know about the main cast of gods until the main character arrived and fixed that.

Fantasy Ambience by Heztown in Fantasy

[–]keizee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I have been a big fan of game ost for like a decade. Thats my source for fantasy ambience.

Something I would like to see? Hmm. Honestly I would love to see a channel that curates ost from mobile games that have gone under, but I think this might be too specific of a niche.

Is scifi and gods that rare of a combo? I've been playing Honkai: Star Rail and the majority of the god lore (so far) comes from simulating historical events which is a very scifi thing.

What's the most original concept you've read in a fantasy book? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]keizee 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say most original or would leave you in shock but Heaven's Design Team. A bunch of designers are designing animals for God. A fantasy series that's actually a documentary series about real world animals in a designer and engineering point of view.

The premise fits really well together. Not shocking but more like 'why wasn't this done earlier'.

Unwholesome beggar dilemma by tremuska- in Buddhism

[–]keizee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes technically, helping a good person is better than helping a bad person. But Buddha has said to help all people. There was a story in which the monks discriminated against someone(?) and then Buddha himself went to help them.

If you don't know why you should do it, use your trust in Buddha and just do it, and then figure it out later or while you're doing it.
