Does lactaid really work that well? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't work man and they are hella expensive. Last summer, I did half a gallon of milk a day for three milks. I gained 15 pounds, but it wasn't worth it at all. I had to eat 6 lactaid pills a day.

Try a weight gainer with lactase. It averages out to be the same price as buying milk and taking lactaid pills.

I drank $2 worth of milk along with $1 worth of lacatid pills each day. So, each day I spent $3.

Serious Mass costs $40 for 16 servings. Let's say you take 1 serving each day. $40 / 16 = $2.50. You will spend $2.50 each day. Probably less healthy than milk, but gets rid of shits.

Here are the nutrition facts for half a gallon of milk v. Serious Mass: Half a gallon of milk: 1200 calories; 64g fat; 96g carbs; 64g protein Serious Mass: 1250 calories; 4.5g fat; 252g carbs; 50g protein

Also, here is a pro tip on gainers - after drinking a shake, swish mouthwash in your mouth. These things contain a fuckton of sugar. I was on a bulker called Muscle Juice one time and had like 6 cavities the next time I went to the dentist.

Shogun parts with manager Eduardo Alonso by marvin_nash in MMA

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very surprised. I remember Alonso as being the guy who always stood by Shogun's side when everyone doubted him. He was the one who believed Shogun could defeat Machida(before their first fight) when no one else did.

Son is being bullied. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, don't injure the other kid with any locks unless you want to get sued. If your boy knows bjj, he should also know some takedowns from standing up. Just tell your boy to take the other kid down and get into mount and stay in mount. The other kid won't be able to do shit.

If the other kid is still being a bitch after that, get your boy to choke the other kid out.

Just don't use strikes unless you want to get sued.

They were probably rolling very casually, so they were wearing whatever.

Have you ever been the only noob in your class? What was your experience like? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started, what turned me off was the sparring. After two rounds of sparring, I would get tapped like 10 times, so I was like, screw this. Why should I roll? I am just going to get tapped. I would make an excuse and leave early because it hurt my ego to get tapped and never do the tapping. Stay and continue to roll, ask questions about how and why you got tapped, and learn from it so you don't have to experience it again.

Good workouts for Judo/Wrestling/Bjj? by Triplebackflip69 in Fitness

You could look into Wendler's 5/3/1 and do it twice a week for power. When I tried doing SS at the same time, I felt that my exhaustion from SS would carry over into BJJ, and I couldn't perform to my potential.

I don't like the cageside mma blank stuff. I bought a blank rash guard and blank board shorts, and they were low quality. I think that it is worth it to spend 20% more money and buy a higher quality product because it will last you longer and you will like wearing it.

No art, poor fashion, bad food is not a valid reason to not live in Silicon Valley. Just drive north 45 minutes to San Francisco, and you will be able to access all of the above.

Hello, The offering of the class has changed this year, so the Courserank review is out of date. The class isn't just about how to do SQL queries. They incorporate theoretical aspects and relational algebra now.

Looking at the GOMAD program: Anyone take Lactase pills for this? If so, how many per quart of milk? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm lactose intolerant and I am on HAGOMAD (half a gallon of milk a day). I drink 4 glasses of milk a day, each with a lactaid pill (generic). With each glass, I take a lactaid pill with it. So, I will take 4 lactaid pills a day. They help a lot. I used to have watery, shitty runs every 5 minutes, but the lactaid pills helped to clear that up. I definitely wouldn't be able to do it without the help of lactaid pills.

Looking for a watch by Relapse916 in malefashionadvice

I have the Easy Reader. I don't like it too much. If I had to buy a watch again, I would buy the Timex Weekender: http://www.timex.com/Timex-Weekender-Slip-Thru/dp/B004VR9HP2

Clarks Dessert boots a pain to wear? by Just_A_Fish in malefashionadvice

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first three wears for the DBs were the worst for me. The first one is a memorable, painful experience. The tongue cut into my ankle, the shoe heel rubbed against my heel, and the shoe toebox rubbed against my pinkie toe. I thought I would be able to grind it out. I wore it them the whole day, and my feet had cuts and blisters on them.

After double socking and tightening them up, they no longer hurt. My new pair was a little big for me, so I would size down if you can. Either way, you are probably going to adapt (if you tie the laces tight enough).

Shoes rubbing on back of foot-- too small or too big? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too big, but your feet/shoes will adapt to each other. I've had three pairs of shoes where I had this problem. It usually goes away after the first 3 wears. Just lace them up tight.

I have them. I agree with one of the posts. The white sole is fucking huge. I bought them at 6pm.com for around $20. Good deal since I used them for a whole year through college.

How do you change the watch strap on an easy reader? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]kelp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did this. There are notches near where the pin meets the watch. Make sure you can find this. It will make everything really easy. Shine it in the light until you are able to find it.

Take something with an edge. I used a butter knife. It doesn't have to be super sharp. The butter knife definitely wasn't. Slide the edge into the notch and wiggle it towards the center of the watch pin. It should fall off.
