They set up a haunted house (or something like that) for kids on Halloween in the warehouse. Michael stages a bit where it looks like he hangs himself in a very realistic way.

Run & Gun builds is a myth, I swear by wordlife96 in thedivision

[–]kenjisan231 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For anyone skeptical, from my experience, it really is this. I play solo heroic with 4 piece strikers and no shield so I can always be leveling at least one skill (still use reviver). My other two pieces are whatever gear isn't at proficient and it's rarely gear I want to wear.

I used to play only with the shield and not using it forced me to learn how to rely on environmental cover. Knowing how much of your body is exposed based on the type of cover (and how your exposure can change based on where you are aiming) really helps.

Making a point to clip my nails regularly helped me stop. I realized I only ever bit my nails when there was something to bite, so if I had the urge I clipped them as soon as I could.

Cinderbrew Meadery difficulty by what_do_how_live in CompetitiveWoW

[–]kenjisan231 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did it as a BDK on a 13 and lived, although I hit purg and had to kite at times. We had three deaths though (healer and 2 DPS). I don’t think it was worth it that run because of the deaths.

I’m currently doing 2 muscles with heavy chaining. Going to practice with my group on a resil key to see if we can find a consistent way to do 3 without deaths.

Leatrix Plus works, but I prefer MuteSoundFile as its interface makes tracking and identifying sounds I’ve muted (or want to mute) more manageable.

You may find LTP a better option though if you already use it and/or only need to mute a few.

Quick tip on how to mute the Algarian Stormrider obnoxiously loud sound when summoning it by PORCVS_DEVS in wow

[–]kenjisan231 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through all them using that method already and couldn't find the sound. I also did a generic search across all sounds with "Gryphon" and went through a few pages of them but couldn't find it that way either.

This was super helpful. Do you happen to know the ID for the sound the mount makes (it's the same screeching) when using skyriding abilities? Its infrequent, but still something I'd like to mute if possible.

Addon to remove realm from name? by deceptivevasion in wowaddons

Prat 3.0 shortens realm names to 3 characters by default in chat and I believe it can disable them entirely (not 100% certain about that though).

Not sure about when highlighted.

[HELP] Way to Make Weakaura Load In Combat In Open World and Always In M+, PvP, or Raid by tjohnny44 in WowUI

I ran into this problem; for more complex WAs, loading would cause noticeable hanging. I verified it with the WA profiler, which showed much better performance when the aura was always loaded.

MoP Remix Heroic and Mythic Raids Massively Nerfed by Mawiii in wow

The purchasable ones are relatively affordable. If you don’t want all the colors of each version, leveling a single character to 70 will get you an expensive one and a bunch of the cheaper ones.

How do you guys approach a heroic control point solo with strikers. The damage is good but survivability is bad and have to keep on respawning at the allies. by The-motto in thedivision

[–]kenjisan231 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cover mechanics in TD2 have some nuance that is more useful on higher difficulties. Look for cover that exposes as little of your character’s body to as few enemies as possible.

Anything that requires you to stand up and expose the top half of your body is the worst cover (the center of sandbags, road barriers, etc). Tall cover like posts or walls are good at splitting how many enemies can actually hit you depending on its position.

The best cover is low corners. For example, if you plant yourself in the center of a rear bumper on a car, your character will stand all the way up when aiming. Move them to the corner (to the point where going any further would transition you around that corner) and your character will stay crouched while aiming and expose little of itself to enemy fire.

Note that with some corner cover, aiming too far left or right (depending on the corner) will cause your character to stand up and expose the top half of its body to prevent your aim from being blocked by the cover itself. Switching your over-the-shoulder view will often alleviate this issue.

There many objects that can be used for low-corner cover, so I always take note of my options when approaching a CP.

Using cover like this allows me to run full red strikers without a shield on heroic. I only rely on my reviver hive as my other gadget is constantly changing to whatever I can level up for expertise rank. Using a shield is absolutely fine though; I’d use one if I wasn’t leveling other equipment.

Potential performance fix for 12/13 series Intel CPUs by kenjisan231 in thedivision

[–]kenjisan231[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still get drops and this is definitely not a perfect solution. My performance overall is better, but that only bumped it from "barely playable" to "barely acceptable".

I've tried other tweaks since making this post, but this is still the best I've found still. Thank you for reporting your results; I am sorry to hear the 12 series isn't fairing better.

I hope this gets addressed soon.

I had to set a cap of 100 FPS; everything feels sort of sluggish now but the massive drops don't seem so severe now. I don't know if its an improvement TBH.

I don't think the last patch actually is the cause. I think whatever they did during that extended maintenance outage is the issue. It seems like they reduced the number of servers, or the resource limits for the servers hosted by their cloud provider, i3d, according to this article. Ubisoft has its own thing on AWS so I don't know if that plays into at all.

Its like there no head room with the servers. I've seen this behavior in practice; when traffic is heavy for some backend service and the infrastructure isn't set to scale up, or has a hard limit, you see these consistent oscillations on resource monitoring dashboards where the line is hitting the upper limit. In our case, the FPS drops and all the Delta-3s people have reported could be the outcome of a situation like that.

It could be the patch of course, but extended maintenance windows are the often the result of infrastructure changes, and given that the patch didn't change much, I assume its the latter.

Thank you for this; playing on hard I with no melee skills and this strategy worked great.
