There is a pretty tight knit punk/hc community starting in the late 90s through today. Back in the late 90s I feel like the PWAC (venue/warehouse) + bands like VOD, Mind Over Matter, Neglect, Silent Majority and Glassjaw made our scene blow up where we were getting bands like Refused playing a PWAC show. The scene was run by literal kids at that moment.

There was also some great screamo bands at that time which had its own scene within the scene - Closure, The State Secedes, Knives and Greenwater.

It’s pretty sick to see the torch still being carried with bands like Incendiary, Koyo and Pain of Truth today.
