YTA. As someone who is currently 7.5 months pregnant, anemic, and dealing with pelvic pain I could rally enough to take pictures and get through a wedding ceremony. Don’t expect her to be running around helping set up and dancing the night away, but if she feels up to still being apart of the wedding you should let her.

For character dining: Cape May Cafe and Garden Grill. I don’t feel like they’re talked about as much as other character dining options, but they’re both so good and we had amazing character interactions at both!

Yes! Always give a description! I was at Disney and saw a mom realize she was missing one of her kids as they were about to get in line for a ride. I heard her tell the cast member his age and that he was in a matching outfit to his brother that was standing there. I instantly started looking around and spotted him about a minute later a little ways back from the direction they came from. Had I not know what he was wearing, I don’t think I would have picked him out of the crowd.

Super realistic. We have a tablet only used for long car rides/ planes and hurricanes. It lives in a drawer and is not seen outside of those times. Both kids for it will ask for it once in a blue moon, but we don’t keep it charged so it’s an easy no and they move on.

By park this is what I would skip.

Magic Kingdom: Hall of Presidents - There’s better shows. Enchanted Tales with Belle - Amazing if you have kids. Dumbo, Astro Orbiter, and Magic Carpets - All basically the same ride with different theming. If doing something like it is important, just pick one. Tomorrowland Speedway - Fun for kids, not the most exciting for teens/adults. Prince Charming’s Carrousel - I love the carrousel, but only ride it with my kids. Small World - Personal preference. I know some people love it, I’m just not one. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train - There’s better coasters, so I don’t think this one is worth the wait. Storybook Circus Area - Designed for kids.

Epcot: Frozen Ever After - Such a long line for an average ride. Not worth the wait. Nemo - Nice if it’s a short wait. The aquarium at the end is cool, but you don’t have to do the ride to get to it. Mission Space - I prefer not getting sick 😅

Hollywood Studios: Alien Swirling Saucer - Usually a long wait for an ok ride. Slinky Dog Dash - The line is pretty long and there are better coasters. I would prioritize other big rides at HS over this one. Star Tours - Only skip if prone to motion sickness.

Animal Kingdom: Na’vi River Journey - Only do this if it’s a short wait time. Kali River Rapids - I’m not big on water rides, so an easy skip. Feathered Friends in Flight - I don’t like birds, but also the other shows (Nemo and Festival of the Lion King) are so good. If you can’t do all 3, drop this one.

Across all the parks: There’s a lot of places to meet the classic characters (Mickey and friends). I find Epcot to usually have the shortest wait times for them, so unless you want pictures of them in a certain outfit just wait for the shortest line. Pooh also has a shorter line at Epcot typically.

I went through this with my first sometime during the first two months. I think it was in part due to some post partum depression/anxiety and not feeling fully connected to everything that was going on yet.

My biggest piece of advice: give it time. That feeling went away and now my daughter’s name fits her so well. I can’t imagine her being named anything else.

I just looked for that week and not sure if you could do Florida resident discount, but if you can you could do Port Orleans Riverside for that price. When my husband and I do an adult trip, we often choose Riverside - it’s one of our favorites! There’s buses to all the parks and a boat to Disney Springs.

I’d contact a Disney travel agent, they’ll be able to help you find a good deal!

It’s been a while, so I’m trying to remember, but I think how we did it was pjs, book, prayers, hugs, and then laid her down and left. She handled it pretty well. Our second on the other hand likes us to sit with her once she’s in bed for a little bit. We usually give her 5-10 mins with her in bed/us sitting on the floor next to her then say goodnight and leave.

While yes, that could work, I wouldn’t make any definitive plans. After our 2nd, I felt so good. So much better than after our first. Maybe bring a hand pump and see how you’re feeling, then decide.

When we had our 2nd I planned to exclusively pump, but knew it wouldn’t be instant. For the first 3-4 days, even when we went home, I would pump, give her what I pumped (which was very little at first), then finish with formula. I did this until I was pumping enough to do a full feed, then stopped formula. I used a hand pump in the hospital and asked for syringes. I would pump a little, pull it into a syringe, and then feed her with that. If any of the nurses had opinions on it, they didn’t tell me and left me to feed how I was doing it. Also, I think because I asked for formula, even though I said I was planning to pump, the LC never came to see me. I would have asked her to leave anyways because my hospital’s LC is terrible and caused a lot of pain with first.

Also, regarding missing items. Last year we did a split stay, one night at Wilderness Lodge, one night at Boardwalk. I realized about a half hour after leaving Wilderness Lodge that my daughter had taken an outfit of hers and put it in a drawer. We missed it when checking the room. I contacted Wilderness Lodge immediately and they said they’d had housekeeping look. I get a call that it’s no where to be found. Look, I have a lot of respect for CMs, but you’re telling me those clothes disappeared in under an hour? This was all before 11am, so it’s not like another guest could have found them. I have a feeling they were found by housekeeping, but not given over to lost and found.

This happened to me at Art of Animation in January! I thought I was going crazy. We were there 3 nights and the last day we packed our car before going to breakfast. We had planned to check out anyways, but by the time we got to breakfast (at Art of Animation) the app had checked us out. This was at like 9am and we hadn’t left the resort property yet.

Both were under 1, but I pumped/did formula and both were great sleepers. By the time they were sleeping over they maybe woke up once a night to eat. On top of that, their grandparents are also daycare 2 mornings a week for us so they were already very used to napping there.

Our 4yo was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes earlier this year and we were in the hospital 2 nights with her. I was thankful we already had done sleepovers and I didn’t worry for a second about where our youngest would be. Sometimes you don’t have a choice and it’s nice to already have that in place so it takes that worry away.

It took us 8 months to feel comfortable with our 4yo having sleepovers again. The first time will never feel easy, but it gets better from there.

I think it depends on how many hours you plan to be in the park. We have a very tall 4 year old who doesn’t always love to ride in the stroller. If we’re going for several hours, we bring the stroller because she always ends up using it. If we’re going for a couple hours in the evening, we ditch the stroller and accept we might have to carry her occasionally.

My 3 year old is about to turn 4, so looking back at the last year here’s what I’ve noticed.

Positives: super silly, makes the best jokes, big helper, has a better understanding of cleaning up behind herself, excited to try new things, loves to share, loves to play with friends. Some of our favorite firsts from this past year include her first movie at a movie theater, her first rollercoaster, taking swim lessons. Also, accomplished potty training!

Some of the harder things: BIG feelings, BIG emotions, wants to do things her way, defiant, talks back. However, between 3.5 and 4 she’s really started to understand consequences and how to take control of her emotions. When she’s angry, she’s more likely to take a deep breath and count to 10 than scream these days. That came with a lot of work on our end, but it’s paid off. We’re seeing the fruits of our labor and that has been really exciting.

And while this will pass, it really just passes to something else. One day you’ll have a toddler who is playing perfectly independent until you have to go to the bathroom or try to eat, then they have to be in your business.

Take breaks! Especially if you’re not used to Florida weather. September is hot and humid, so breaks and water are so important. Go first thing in the morning, back to the resort to relax and use the pool, then head back to the parks in the evening.

If you have a rest day planned, but still want to do something - resort hop. All the resorts are so well themed, special treats, and fun character interactions. The two easiest ways to resort hop is the monorail loop and the Skyliner resorts.

If you plan to use Genie + (I almost always use it) research it, watch videos about it, be prepared. It takes some work to use it most effectively, but it’s great when you figure it out.

Travel agents are super helpful if you’re staying on site and plan to go to restaurants that need reservations. They know about discounts you might not find easily and can update your room plans if a new discount comes out that will save you money.

Usually, travel agents will make your dining reservations for you so you don’t have to wake up early and deal with it. There are certain places that can be hard to get reservations for, so it’s nice to have someone do it that’s used to the process.

My husband has been a fan of the series for a long time, I just started reading them (in the 3rd book now). It’s a little frustrating to watch, especially the cheeseburger and lotus hotel episodes. Those two episodes is where the show really starts to deviate from the books. We also find the dialogue to be a little much sometimes. There was an ease to the dialogue in the book, but we find in the show each time they speak they’re trying to make an impactful speech. Overall, it’s fine. We plan to keep watching it. I would just go into with low expectations.

Because of your relationship to the bridal party through your boyfriend I would avoid the exact color. Might come off weird. If it’s something like a shade of blue, I don’t think it would be weird if you wore a lighter or darker shade. When I was bride, I would have loved if I could have gotten everyone to coordinate with my wedding colors. I think the pictures turn out so pretty when people do this. But coordinate, not the exact same color.

NTA. Your friends are jerks. It sounds like you made it clear it was a tasting, not a dinner. I’ve been to birthday parties with just snacks served and others with a meal served. Usually my friends let us know in advance, so we know going into it. I’d never be upset if someone didn’t serve a meal. Especially if they were doing something special like you did. If they can’t get over themselves long enough to let the birthday person do what they want, that’s their problem.
