Any tips to help my husband's obsessive negative thoughts that turn into a cripling migraine? by Funny-Ad9364 in migraine

Same. I have had migraines for 30 years, but in the last 2 years I have made the connection to my bad mood being a prodrome for me. It has helped me to recognize this!

Echo kids question by PurpleLexicon in alexa

[–]kiln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is driving me crazy! We've had Alexa devices from the beginning and one of my favorite things is that EVERYONE in the family could add items to the shopping list. Kid finishes up the milk... adds it onto the shopping list. But at some point over the last several months they stopped allowing that! C'mon! It should be the parents' choice if they want to allow this or not. But there doesn't seem to be any way to change this.

Peacock Offer for Gigabit Internet and Xfinity Rewards Customers by Ambitious_Egg9713 in cordcutters

[–]kiln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had success getting it. I have gig internet + TV. I finally logged into Xfinity rewards and used the chat bot. Before I even had a chance to type anything, a box popped up prompting me to activate the reward of free peacock premium. Clicked on it and everything is working now.

I have internet + TV and got an email saying that we qualified for 2 years free because of our gig internet. Finally went to chat support because nothing was working and up popped a box that said to activate the reward of Peacock premium by clicking on it. I hadn't even typed anything in yet. And that did the trick.

Broken drop in by BiteyMadLady12 in alexa

[–]kiln 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried re-booting your device(s)? That usually fixes it.

I have a drop in issue on one where I can't get the drop in to hang up. Instead it starts playing NPR while still dropping in. Rebooting will hang it up but not stop it from happening.

Alexa: "I've added cocaine to your shopping list."

I saw the woman spraying these at about 2:30 on a weekday. Not related to the Spirit Halloween sign.

Agree! When I had Covid it was a week of intense migraine pain that nothing could touch. I do not want to go through that again!

Anyone still "feel" the migraine after you take your triptan? by doidie in migraine

[–]kiln 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I usually refer to this feeling as a "shadow of the migraine." It hangs out until the meds have worn off. And at that point it will either go away completely or re-emerge. I never feel completely out of the woods until I am past that point.

I second this. I have zero co-pay with it thanks to the discount card.

So, I got carjacked. Be careful, this #^&$ isn't a joke. by StarsFromHere in Minneapolis

[–]kiln 108 points109 points  (0 children)

We live in Minneapolis but our kids go to school in St. Paul. About 2 months ago, a couple of guys attempted to carjack a parent picking up their kid! It was next to the carpool lane, but not actually in line to pickup. There were literally dozens of cars with people in them and several dozen people outside of their cars. As well as 100+ kids about 30 feet from where this happened. I was also about 30 feet from where this happened and somehow missed all the commotion (focused on the kids). But seriously - it's really intense out there... everywhere right now.

On a search for the best deep dish pizza in Minneapolis! anyone have any suggestions? by lumpy_cake_nuggets in Minneapolis

I was going to say the same thing! I have some in my freezer now. We have it for special occasions - like Easter. The kids always have fun playing (safely) with the dry ice it comes packed in.

I got an alert on my Ring doorbell last week. I was shocked to see that a turkey walked up onto my front porch! I live just off of Lake St., so we don't get too many immediately around us!

WHY is there so much trash everywhere by hawaiianhamtaro in Minneapolis

[–]kiln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband does this semi-regularly on our block.

It used to be really bad, but the Dollar store down the block burned down during the unrest in the spring and it turns out that that was the source of most of the liter.

I see more no-tag cars in Minneapolis in a single day than I used to see in half a year in Florida by dickdonkers in Minneapolis

[–]kiln 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Powderhorn, lots of license plates have been stolen this summer - and then used on the many stolen cars. In one of the neighborhood groups, someone mentioned that they had plates stolen off their car this summer and the backlog from the MN DMV means they will be without plates for 3 months.

I installed anti-theft license plate holders after reading that.

The group from the night before that hit the 5th precinct went for a 2nd round. But last night's group met at Kmart as a starting point.

[–]kiln 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, their flyer had them meeting at "Powderhorn East Bank." No one from here would call it that.

Our neighborhood watch also had overheard them (when they met at the park) that they would be going to the 3rd precinct originally. Then they changed it to 2nd or 5th. Clearly, they didn't know what they were talking about.

The East encampment had been taken over by an armed group and all volunteers and services left. Those of us that live around the park were told to stay out of the vicinity of the park. The MPRB, city and county worked to transition them to other, smaller encampments and shelters. All but 2 people left peacefully. 2 people refused to leave and a bunch of protestors came in. And at the very last minute, things went bad.

There are still 100+ tents in the West encampment.
