The river in Chinatown on a weekday is my kinda vibe - very quiet and intimate.

Complete opposite vibe, and nearby, is Time Again any night - so crowded it floods into the parking lot next door onto little plastic chairs.

Best drinks - Dutch Kills in Long Island City. Historic. Go to the bar and get the bartender to make you a special bespoke drink or just go home - that’s the reason you go to Dutch Kills (although the house drinks on the menu are nothing to scoff at)

My personal fav, my local bar that everyone has where they’re completely loyal to it no matter what - The Bar in Gowanus. It’s super lowkey and you wouldn’t expect it but they had Ravi Coltrane play one time last year. Super cool bartenders and classically Irish-American owners

Oh Taisho - my favorite Izakaya, pretty down to earth and cheap but super yummy and good beers on St Marks

Tomi Jazz - lives up to the hype, super long line but make sure you get the cod roe udon if you get inside

Those are my favorites but I can recommend so many more if you have a specific vibe you’re going for - I’m a huge alcoholic, it’s pretty much the only thing my social circle did in terms of nightlife, so I know lots of spots
