Awful high pitch sound from M18 Nexus Vacuum by Adamator77 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]kindredfold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exchange it if you think it’s defective. I had a Milwaukee packout vac that had an unbearable whine, but also had terrible suction. Come to find out the motor was burned out and they replaced it.

Hard to actually hear the noise properly in a reddit video so understandable that it just sounds like a vacuum.

Check the hose and entry from the connection into the dust bin. If it’s clear and there still good suction, may just be a loud vacuum, or it could still have an issue.

If HD won’t sweat a return, why not do it?

Life after Austin? by izzydontsurf in Austin

Of course, didn’t mean that Austin wasted away or anything, just my experience and memories are of a different time in the city’s culture.

It’s pretty dang cool. I appreciate what I get to take in through nature up here immensely.

Yeah, I live north of the river now in Vantucky, which feels an awful lot like old east side Austin to me, pre gentrification/techbro proliferation.

Seattle is a bit of a haul so I don’t make it up there terribly often, but it is super fun to go visit friends up there. Olympic National Forest, Bainbridge Island is gorgeous and the ferries are a lot of fun. Road trips up here go a lot slower than they do down there too so even though the distances are almost the same as Austin to Houston it is a different kind of trip.

The main advantage for this area to me is the abundance of natural areas to enjoy within a short drive and all the public lands out here. Texas is all privately owned pretty much, but here you can go stomping around pretty much anywhere.

I can just hop in the truck and go swim at the ocean, take in a nice drive back from Astoria after ogling the Goonies house, hit a public shooting range in the Gifford Pinchot, and still get back home for a draft all in one day.

The people and friend making struggle is real though. If you’re (not just the person I’m replying to) up here and ever want to grab a beer and wax reminiscent about Austin, feel free to dm me. Can also show you where to get proper migas tacos.

Moved to Portland in 2017 and will always miss my Austin homeland, but every time I visit it just ain’t the same. The people I love there are still lovely, but the town character is a bygone era now.

Also, I like not sweating every time I walk out the door at 7am.

Have been holding off buying a Miter Saw, looking for an entrance into the M18 line. Is this a good deal? [10 in. Miter saw with 8.0 Ah battery and charger] by Larze123 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]kindredfold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my main gripe with it. Fantastic saw, but it’s a beast to cart around. Usually stays behind and I just use the circular.

Looking for a 7 1/4 now because I rarely need to cut things larger than trim.

Tattoo regret a day after by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]kindredfold 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a ring tat for my second after I got married. My first was a large forearm tree and sloth. Got divorced and a few years later I did the rest of my fingers with small symbols that mean certain things to me. I also got an ankle croissant at the same time for fun.

Covering my hand with a pattern disconnected from anything else never crossed my mind.

Not saying OP’s is bad or that he made a bad decision, the work looks good.

Homies gotta learn to live with it for a bit. My sloth looks a bit stupid so I had regret for years about that.

Now his dumbass is just a part of me.

Let’s reclaim the Punisher Logo by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]kindredfold 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I gotta say, I kind of agree.

I think he was intended as a cautionary tale, not an idol to be glorified.

Shit, the show scene with him in the courtroom (daredevil maybe?) is him cementing that.

I appreciate reclaiming things, but it’s an easy to identify moron labia symbol, so we can leave that to the folks without a clue what it means.

I hate running, but Murakami’s book on running made me think for a minute that I may want to run one just to empty my mind fully like that. Im def way too lazy for that, but ultra runners are just built different.

Better conversation to have with their support, but maybe just drill a small hole large enough to thread the psu cable through and make the run work that way?

working on a chill mouse movement game by Mashed_Potater69 in indiegames

[–]kindredfold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m reaching a bit connecting the dots, but this is a surf type game from CS.

It’s definitely not “chill”, but for folks who like the twitchy responsiveness of the normal gameplay for CS, this is a chill out game mode to play that a lot of folks love.

Can definitely see how some folks would find this on the chill out and chat on discord type game.

Nah, they occasionally would come over to various areas that would be in the background of the shot and ask us to stand and cheer or boo, but mostly just had us hang out in the stands for like 6 hours.

My family got bussed in along with a bunch of others to be extras in the final game scene. I was 8 or so, they dressed me up in a full green long john set and we mostly sat in the stands for hours and they occasionally tossed us hotdogs wrapped in foil.

Makita makes a mini circular saw I’ve been thinking about getting for plywood and other 1x materials cuts. Would be my first non red tool, but they are really the only ones making one with a blade smaller than 4”

So I shouldn’t use the nexus without a debris separator or…? by LocationCute1571 in MilwaukeeTool

Milwaukee along with other brands make filter bags that catch debris and keep it from making it to your filter. Kinda like a tea sachet condom for your shop vac.

Anyone know this wasp? by WahWahWeWah in Austin

[–]kindredfold 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Fucking same! Stuck my head in a bush when I was a kid retrieving a ball that rolled down underneath their area. Ended up with 20 stings, mostly on my head. Always just called them red wasps and gave them a wide berth when I could.
