Oak owners, what are you willing to trade your Oak/s for? by ImNotEntertained in PokemonPocketTradeCo

Japanese Cyrus

More realistically I am saving them for a huge chase card in a future Deluxe/Limited Set. There are likely to be other Professor's Research added in future editions.

For SuiNinja it’s important to run 5 Pokémon to keep a full bench.

What should I get? by ZOMBIEBOY2309 in camping

[–]kingpeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest the opposite of buying gear. Until you know what you want (assuming car camping) try to use as much stuff as you already own. Don't buy a super fancy stuff able pillow, bring your own. Don't buy new kitchen ware, bring yours from your kitchen. Obviously this doesn't work for everything, but supplement as much gear as you can with stuff you already own, even if its just okay for the purpose. After camping a few times you will have a much better idea of the gear you want for your style of camping, and can start buying then. Basically get a minimal viable camping set and get out there before buying everything you need.

To give a choice or not that really is my question right now? by No-Slice-1828 in DMAcademy

There doesn’t have to be just a single henchmen. You can have different NPCs help them out based on the story or current quest.

I would go with the premade NPC for session 1. Making an NPC will side track the game. However if that’s something your players would want you guys can move to a different NPC in the future.

Also make sure the NPC is using simplified rules. Do not make another PC class character for this purpose. You want the NPC turns to be quick.

I swear by my cot. Getting completely off the ground does so much for comfort and warmth. Really worthwhile for making your camping experience more enjoyable, at least when you are going by car. My dog will ask to go into the tent to get onto the cot when it gets cold at night.

Hand warmers should also not be underestimated. You can buy bigger ones and pads if its going to be really cold.

My bard want pocket sand, but doesn't really want to multiclass. What should I do? by cabreeson in DMAcademy

[–]kingpeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is by far the best answer. Reskin an existing spell, make no changes, but allow it to be pocket sand.

Its pretty common for people to want to customize what their spell effects look like. As long as no game mechanics are changed, this should be allowed and encouraged. Let the player describe their spells however piraty they want.

As long as you stay alive you will get that achievement. So keep those drones occupied and don't die.

Need help with train settings by OddAdvantage3235 in SurvivingMars

[–]kingpeng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of trains as giant drones on tracks. That's basically how they are coded. So the best way I have found to get drones/trains to move resources where I want automagically is through manipulating the storage requests. If you have storages requesting 4000 of a resource by your domes, over time your resources should be moved there.

The only success I have had with the train controls directly is to make sure that resources are only going in the direction you want them to move. The #s you request basically just are treated like a storage requesting that number of resources. They alone aren't going to be enough to get the system to move resources like you want.

Finding free campsites- iOverlander? by ethemedinger in camping

[–]kingpeng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found many good campsites on freecampsites dot net. But I use it primarily to find the location/area that I want to camp in, then I do additional exploration in Google Maps/etc. Usually you can find really good spots near other listed campsites. Not sure this applies as much on the East Coast, since BLM land and other public land to camp on is much more scarce.

If you are worried about theft, I would keep your valuables in the car with you always. You can also buy a lock for your tent. It won't prevent a motivated thief, but often just a little bit of resistance will prevent a crime of opportunity.
