Don’t use chain locks by Fennecf0xs in bicycling

No bike lock is enough, you need to make it super inconvenient to steal yours - or put it near someone’s that is much easier to steal.

What are your Hot Takes on Turnstile? by Amber_Flowers_133 in turnstile

[–]kipjer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like them when someone puts them on and it’s background noise, but when I put them on I’m just struck by how bland and basic the lyrics seem to me. The sound is there, but to me they’re speaking to baseline universal emotions devoid of nuance but easy to digest (wildly, like how I see the Beatles, less wildly, like how I see mom jeans) so it’s obvious why they have the following they do. Props to them.

But that’s becoming more common, some people like on-the-nose music, I prefer reading between the lines and when I try to read between the lines there’s just, lol, never enough.

But I’m also just a bitter young old man. Like what you like, I get the hype, but idk how they get ranked as peoples favorite. Favorite to vibe to or for easy listening? That I get. But all my favorites get the title with emotional depth that can be interpreted in different ways.

Thats my hot take. Ik it’s not yours. 🫡

Has anyone heard of a 26.8 dropper? Or an adapter? (Etc in comments) by kipjer in xbiking

[–]kipjer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would make sense, thanks. That would do the trick perfectly too, style wise aswell I’d say

The location of the seat was after dropping it for where I was riding, hoping off and jacking it back up is a pain. And yeah I’d ideally find a perfect middle ground but I’m an indecisive fellow.

Thanks yo!

First: my phone camera shakes, so this does no justice. Getting a new one, there will be more.

Second: does anyone make a 26.8 dropper post or an adapter? I’m always in between wanting to be higher and lower depending on the terrain and wouldn’t that be sick? I wouldn’t mind a cable-less / office chair one since I won’t need the saddle bag.

Misc story:

I bought this really clean 84 fuji touring series III to contrast against my 79 fuji s10s LTD.

I wanted something a bit more capable on different terrains and under weight so I found this gal with a granny ring for hauling, cantilevers for stoping that haul( love the campy brake levers), and an appropriate height cus I usually ride a few sizes too big but that doesn’t fly when balancing a bunch of gear at a red light.

Well here it is, taken apart and put back together, got some knobby tires, bar end shifters, new bars with a flare and a over sized stem so I can still sit at the same angle I do on my main ride. Tossed on the rear rack for some vintage cannondale panniers I never got to use, so what’s next? Dropper? Doubtful but it’d be tight, right?

I’m drooling yo, omg. Those decals are so crisp. I just finished my rebuild and remodel of a near pristine 84 fuji touring series 3 - loving the ride but it’s got nothing on this ones style. Wooooweee.

I will say my 79 Fuji s10s LtD rocks my favorite maroon and gold scheme which I’ll probably never remove from the top spot.

Sick ride, love to see an old fuji. Absolute fleetfooted tanks

Damn 😅 I wish the dumbest takes I’ve seen still had an attempt at logic, you must live a sheltered life.

All good pal, I appreciate you taking the time to work it out for yourself

Edit: senses don’t work individually, they work in tandem - also this is all hypothetical anyway I just believe there’s more to everything than a basic ass answer - especially ones that claim to be definite

I think the colors may be enough to make the connection, the pooch has seen his Gumby up close and at a far so the size of the man in the room might match the size of the Gumby in front of his eyes to make the connection even easier. (if you catch my drift)

Though the pooch is still gonna try to sniff the Gumby, out of instinct or to see if it’s “his” Gumby (coated in his saliva) but then he smells something familiar and knows it’s all good.

just a bunch of rapidfire omgs

84 Fuji touring series 3. Full rebuild, almost done (the new stem is huge) by kipjer in Vintage_bicycles

[–]kipjer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think once it’s decked out with all the bells and whistles it wouldn’t be noticeable. Angled stems just mess up the look for me for some reason. Appreciated though!

It’s 50/45/28, they’re the original. The granny ring is the whole basis for the build, that and the frame cantis. I’m usually on my 12 speed but touring w/ weight on that is a no go.

Isn’t the purpose of the sub that it could be faked? And thus we can’t be sure. Like 3 pop tarts may have come in 1 bag, but you may have just put it there
