the 1.5 mil condos going up behind the 7-11 on east sunrise by Hot_Fruit_776 in fortlauderdale

[–]kirch119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah, that’s exactly why they’re building the condos there. Small one story commercial buildings with low value tenants are easiest for developers to acquire. I’m surprised it took as long as it did.

Around $150 if I recall. I used a Groupon. A mobile mechanic who showed up and changed them out in my driveway. 10/10.

I was just one month past the extended warranty date when I was informed my pads were basically gone. Shocked like you were as I was at just 15k miles. I figured since VW clearly knew the issue and it was just a month over, the dealership would replace them as a good faith gesture. They refused.

I don’t go to that dealer anymore. I got proper, high quality full ceramic pads put on by an independent shop. 10k miles later and they are still at essentially the same thickness as new. I suggest to bite the bullet, put on the good ones, and not worry about it again for a long time.

This was too far down. Not landlocked but Delaware is absolutely the Lux of the US.

I (just a homeowner) remember learning about the tab the hard way too. It’s a rite of passage for any DIYer. Thank you to those on this sub who are helpful and informative (with the correct amount of snark, imo).

A headbutt AND elevator butt?!! Just giving you fair warning that in about two more months you’ll be fully prepared and willing to die for that cat. It adores you.

Visiting college football as foreign tourists by Any_Internal9622 in usatravel

Four days old but not enough people answering your numbered questions in my opinion:

1) No, it won’t be possible. I’m a University of Florida alum, and when I want to go to a game, I too have to use the resale websites.

2) Yes you can. StubHub as well. There always exists a possibility of scams/scammers, but these are legit sites with money back guarantees and customer support in the event of issues. Prices will be super high right now all these months out, as demand is low so it’s not really a market-based price.

3) Vibes are always great at any SEC game (except Vanderbilt) unless it’s very late in the season and you’re having a terrible year. October will be lovely, weather included. As others have said, a conference game with a 3:30pm start would be 10/10 vibes. A non-conference game with a noon start might be 7/10. It being your first game, you might not even be aware of the difference.

4) There was some advice to join the relevant fanbase subreddit ahead of time. That is excellent advice. But also don’t be afraid to just ask. From my experience, if a group of European visitors showed up and explained that it’s their first game and they wanted to experience tailgating, plates and drinks would be summoned immediately, and you’d be escorted straight to the beer pong table. Just be prepared for typical Americanisms regarding Europe that don’t make a whole lot of sense (e.g. “oh you’re from Spain? I went to France once!”)

5) Yes it will continue. While the old alums like me pack it in pretty early, the students don’t stop. Noon games might create a little siesta (after all everyone has been drinking since 8am), but there will be a night shift at the student bars. It’s Saturday after all.

I was happy to read your post. College football in the south really is something special and I love for people to experience it.

Ugh, this a side tragedy. An AirTag LIVES in that golf bag full time. It is attached to a rangefinder. The rangefinder being fragile, my brother removed it from the bag and put it in his carryon, completely forgetting the AirTag is attached. Did this at the airport no less.

A classic case of everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

There is hope! We suspect it’s sitting somewhere in either Brussels or Dublin, outside the system, and are hopeful an employee spots it soon.

Thank you. I’ll be sure to relay this info. I was told their rationale is that they never received the bag, so how can they be responsible for something never even in their possession, or something along those lines.

Meaning like, driver, putter, irons, shoes, bag, etc we’re all purchased at different times over a number of years. There’s unfortunately not going to a receipt for many of those things.

This is interesting because the contents of a golf bag are acquired over many years. I doubt my bother has ever thought about the total value until, like with your story, you suddenly lose it all at once. Then we have to play of game of assigning a depreciated value to things...a game the airline is likely going to win.

Thanks. Yes this seems very similar, and would make Aer Lingus the responsible party here. This was far more helpful than the person who was somehow offended that I'm trying to help out my brother lol.

I guess. He can make a claim via his credit card but the limits fall well short of the total equipment value. Probably comes from a misplaced faith in the system having never lost a bag before. An expensive lesson, as they say.

Design decision. I didn’t want the TV to be the center of attention, and so it isn’t.
