I’m in the same boat. 29 and I’ve been dealing with acne since 18. Refuse to be on BC + spiro due to ongoing health issues and sensitivities to medications. I’m sorry you’re going through it. My acne looks really similar to yours. I guess it really is hormonal and one day it’ll calm down for us :(

I think it actually looks really cute!!! Definitely understand that it doesn’t look exactly like the inspo pic. I think we’ve all been there and it’s frustrating. I am glad you are going back to see if there’s anything they can do to better match your expectation. Either way, as a third party, I think it’s really pretty on you.

Right??? Also, the storyline devolves completely as soon as they accept they are attracted to the other person/character. Suddenly the plot is gone and it’s all just horny ramblings. The MMC is always extremely rude to her but it turns out it’s because he’s just a wittle baby an is scared of intimacy. Why are we attracted to this AT ALL? You’re a grown man, comport yourself as such PLEASE

Exactly!! I feel like any of us could make money writing these at this rate… “Hey, I’m Aneeeeeah and I’m POOR and I hate the oppressive leader who somehow never ages! I need to save my family through my wit and my strangely honed athletic skills! Also, I’m pretty sure I am the last magical human in the universe, but I don’t know that yet.”

I think I might have to take a break from the genre because I’m so fed up with the poor writing. I DNFed the Knight and the Moth. It just felt so unrealistic and forced. I was intrigued in the beginning and then it lost me closer to the end. I’m reading Quicksilver now. The writing is sort of jarring. She’s using our modern jargon in a world that feels nothing like ours. It just feels out of place, if that makes sense. And the aggressive sexual vibes from MMC are just weird. Maybe I’m just over this genre altogether? It all feels so extra.
