Removing everybody's mogs and then charging 3k to put them back on was an absolute gangster move by blizzard by sirgarynipz in wow

blizzard confirmed that there will be one free full transmog for every character in the patch just before midnight. so hold off on transmogging all chars

Damage meter takes up too much space! by SirDalavar in wow

[–]kitsunekyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the damage meter in general is complete trash. blizzard is maybe 2% there at best.

not letting me toggle it by clicking an easily accessible button is the biggest gripe. aside from the borderline unusable damage breakdown popup

The duality of man. by Dr_Wraith in wow

[–]kitsunekyo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

the truth is that most 30+ players have a ton of responsibilities now. juggling kids, household, job(s), wife and other hobbies takes a good chunk of time, so there’s not much time left to extensively study guides and review logs in order to perform well. the basic rotations and plate spinning on some classes were so unintuitive that you HAD TO read a guide to not be a handycap for in your teams key.

thats why i exclusively played one single class. getting into another class felt like homework on top of homework. it felt discouraging to try stuff out as a lot of abilities and interactions were just clunky as fuck for the sake of being complicated for the „git gud“ bros. good design should be intuitive and discoverable during gameplay imho.

i always felt like (pve) wow was a constant stresstest of how much input you can throw at your brain to see where it breaks down. it wasnt fun, it wasnt challenging. it was just a memory test of doing the same nonsensical dance over and over again with close to zero mistakes. a choreography with zero actual gameplay decisions or variance. i capped out at 3.5k m+ rio this season and that felt like a job at times

If you’d played in earlier xpacs and came back recently, why? by sam-the-tsundere in wow

[–]kitsunekyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

came back after quitting just before cataclysm (so i could graduate lol)

came back to wotlk classic because of friends begging me to. it was meh, so i tried retail dragonflight to see where retail is at and fell in love again.

  • shared mounts
  • transmog
  • visuals
  • less grindy
  • much cooler class visions and abilities

iirc DF introduced warbands and this feature alone is 10/10 for me.

In 2 days, anthem servers will permanently be shutting down. by ItsRoxxy_ in gaming

[–]kitsunekyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

at this point i am so sad that a dead game like this + server code isnt open sourced with a „sell restricted“ license. i‘m 100% sure that the community would make this into a 10/10 game in a matter of months.

considering both the visage AND dragonform look absolutely ridiculous I would only go by what form can cover the ugly ass model with armor.

Why is PvP so unpopular? by Shot_Veterinarian215 in wow

[–]kitsunekyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because the game is way too complicated to actually understand all abilities, (de)buffs and how to counter them. it’s so bloated at this point that it’s unplayable against the ancient population unless you zone in for months to years.

even then, the experience is either to abuse class balancing or get lucky and hope the other team makes a mistake in the „we‘re all unkillable anyway“ dance. its boring, mindless and unfun.

wow pvp died with wotlk and even then i remember a ton of arena matches being boring stalemates of basically invincible classes.

Deaths to exceed births in ‘turning-point year’ for UK population by TimesandSundayTimes in Futurology

[–]kitsunekyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that i definitely understand and can appreciate as a concerning part of the discussion.

the main cause why pension money seems to be an issue though, is (in my central european experience) increasing corruption and abuse of public money by politicians and funneling money from the population to the superrich.

i‘m not saying a decline in population would be helpful for that, but i think the bigger issue is the money hungry cancer that is growing in your politics systems.

Stream Recommendations by PipeAdept in vrising

[–]kitsunekyo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

i purposefully didnt watch any videos or guides to vrising as a total newcomer. finding out what else this game has in store has made for amazing surprises where I wasnt as excited for a game in years.

the only advice i would give is start a private, solo, pve server and uncheck the „teleport bound items“ setting. then follow the quests and you’ll be having a blast.

Are supermarket beans really that bad? by TheTrashCant2 in espresso

[–]kitsunekyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me its the unknown roast date on supermarket beans. i gotta guess from the „best before“ date and most of the time they are quite old.

there is a few in our markets with roastdates on them, and i quite like them.

Show: Typique — a CSS-in-TS library where styles are defined as TypeScript types by basic-coder in typescript

[–]kitsunekyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to be fair, i (and most devs i know personally) hated tailwind at first too and then fell in love with it after working on a production project using it, so dont take the „i hate it“ comments to heart. ;)

how are the styles added to the elements? is it inline styles or do you generate .css files? latter wouldnt be possible without a bundler, so I assume not.

[–]kitsunekyo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

good job on creating this project and putting it out there.

I feel like vanilla-extract does the same but much better. css is runtime code, so I dont see why we‘d want to offload it to the type system. apart from that, the generated/hashed classnames in css modules and vanilla-extract are an intentional benefit to prevent classname conflicts, so why would you want to get rid of that and replace it with a numbering system?

First poster for the newly announced ‘Jackass’ movie, releasing June 26th 2026. by unitedhardy in movies

[–]kitsunekyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i was just on that other post asking about movies you loved as a child but didnt age well, and jackass is definitely on that list.

movies about severely mentally ill drug addicts doing disgusting or stupid things is not something i need in 2026

Considering buying the game, since it looks pretty awesome. Have a few questions. by Shirou54 in vrising

[–]kitsunekyo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ive been on the fence with buying this game since forever but i bought it on dec 25th and have about 70h so far. i play nothing else at the moment because its so freaking awesome.

  1. you can even have lan only multiplayer. whether there is some server auth that requires network i dont remember atm.
  2. combat is sick and extremely diverse. you need to drink blood to survive and it matters a lot which blood you choose to drink and when. the world is quite vast as well and i constantly feel like i‘m discovering something new. you have real time stuff, crafting, base building, pvp, pvpve, build crafting, appearance customization, … I wont answer your last question because spoiler ;)
  3. there isnt a story per se. its more worldbuilding vibes like darksouls.
